When I was working security, I needed a solid black scarf for when I was working security on winter nights in the gatehouse of the condo resort. This shemagh fit that need perfectly. It was lightweight but still offered enough extra material to tuck into the neck of my jacket to stay warm. The solid black color of the fabric was exactly what I needed as it went with my uniform better than any other color I could find. The fabric was also very soft, washed very well, and remained colorfast the entire time I owned it.

Really good quality and solid weight. Not flimsy. Good color (doesn’t fade much yet). Super warm as a scarf or head-wrap. Used daily in the winter, and especially when working outside or shoveling snow. Already had a white & black one. Easy to maintain with handwashing and air drying. Not too hot worn around the neck, but again VERY warm when worn around the head, especially with just a ball cap. Good quality, size, etc. Well-Made by a really good company!

Great purchase

After looking through almost all the shemagh sellers on amazon, I was worried about smelly, thin cheap fabrics that bled dye everywhere. It seemed that these complaints are very common among MOST sellers of these. I had NONE of these issues with this shemagh. The solid color looks fashionable around my neck as a scarf and I don't worry about attention or odd looks. It works great as a cover for sun, sand, wind and is a very very functional piece of clothing. I will be buying the grey color shortly. The fabric was a bit thicker than another brand of shemagh I bought on amazon. The price is great for such a useful piece of clothing. The large size means its big enough to tie across the head and face as a hat and face guard, and I have a large head. Could be used as a pillow and a variety of other uses in a pinch. Everyone seems to like bandannas for camping or survival kits etc, but i highly recommend this instead. Its 100% cotton.

I bought this mainly to cover my face during the cold. It doesn't get too cold, here in California, as it would Alaska, but that's not the point.I get sick frequently because of allergies and asthma. Usually, when I get sick, I get sinus infections or respiratory infections.My grandmother would tell me(in spanish) to "cover my face when I go out."I was excited because I never heard of such a thing, a "keffiyeh," or a, "shemagh."When I got it, I also was glad that nothing was wrong with it. I read other peoples' reviews and some complained of problems, for example, someone's scarf smelled of kerosene.How odd.It didn't look poorly made, but one flaw I found was that, when I was trying to wrap the scarf around my head, and as I was adjusting it, I accidentally pulled some fibers loose. The scarf wasn't ruined, but after constant use it will probably happen. I also decided to purchased a solid color because I didn't like the patterns; they seemed to flashy. I'll settle with solid black.Keeps me warm, so I'm satisfied.

overall a great product

I'm no expert in these things but it seems durable and relatively comfortable/easy to use.

Fabric is very heavy compared to traditional style. It therefore settles low and creases, and does not maintain the loft and contact with the neck.
