This is only designed for halogen or incandescent bulbs, but it works perfectly with my LED bulb. But my LED bulb is DIMMABLE- if it wasn't a dimmable-type bulb, it wouldn't work.

Perfect. The Lutron TT-300H-WH is a very convenient and effective dimmer for my bedside lamps. Didn't work with the LED bulbs that came with the lamps, but I didn't expect it to and I hated those bulbs anyway. They were too bright, had a harsh color temperature and had an annoying delay when switched on. Replaced the LEDs with 43 watt Reveal incandescent bulbs. Put a 2-way splitter on the Lutron dimmer's socket, plugged in the lamps and voila! Now both lamps dim down to a perfect level for evening TV watching, reading or whatever. Or they can be adjusted up or down to any brightness when needed. No more turning on bright lights in the dark to find the remote. The fully down position is full off. The dimmer module on the end of the cord can be placed in any convenient location and moved to another location when needed. Such a simple tweak, but these dimmers make the bedroom so much more livable and enjoyable. I also put one on the torchiere by the reading chair across the room. Again, I can put the dimmer near the bed to control that light, or easily move the cord to the chair if I want to control the light from there. For those preferring CFL or LED bulbs, according to the package insert, the model TTCL-100 version of this line of products will work with dimmable CFL and LED bulbs. Make sure to do your homework and get the right dimmer for your bulbs (or the right bulbs for your dimmer) and you should be very happy with the results.
