A working and reliable Watt Meter
Plug an electrical device into the Poniie watt meter to measure the wattage, current, or voltage flowing through. You can also set the Poniie to measure the amount of kWh used over a period of time, good for determining how much an electrical device costs you during usage. The display on the Poniie is of high quality and brightness, making it easy to read.Product also comes with an extension cable of about a foot long, so that you don't block multiple outlets in a wall or power strip. It additionally comes with an operation manual.Ultimately, the Poniie watt meter does precisely what you'd expect, and perhaps a little beyond that, at a high level.

Great buy, even greater customer service
To start, because there are many of these for sale in many different price points, let me clarify that the 5-stars is for meters at this price point. If you are looking for the best quality meter available with every function, you'll need to look at companies like Fluke (and also expect to pay $2000 - $5000!).I highly recommend this product if you are looking for a meter to use at home that will measure the amount of electricity a particular device uses when it is plugged into an outlet. I've used it for a few weeks and it appears to be accurate for all the measurements it makes. It is of decent quality construction and I appreciated the inclusion of a short extension cord to make connections easier than needing to go straight into the outlet, or straight into the device (for odd locations or shapes, like a wall wart). Nice little freebie to make life easier and enough imo to put this above competing products. The buttons and functions all work and the display is easy to read. I'm confident in the quality because I have used it with high-power devices for long periods of time (longer than recommended once (by accident!))There are a lot of competing products in this price range, so it was difficult for me to choose, but I'm glad I chose this. Upon receipt of the product, there was one little hiccup for me. I don't know a lot about electricity and there was one part of the instruction manual I found confusing. I moved on to other chores and hadn't thought much about it when I received a follow-up email from the Seller, Aaron, checking to see if everything was okay. I told him that I didn't understand one of the features and he quickly replied with an explanation of the feature. Being a little slow on this subject, I told him I didn't really understand, (still). Most sellers probably would have just offered a return or refund at this point, but Aaron really went out of his way in two more emails to help me understand and helped me learn how to get the most out of this product. So, in a market where there are a lot of choices and all of the products are of similar quality, features and price, I can recommend this one because of the great customer service. Let's face it, dealing with sellers of electrical devices on Amazon can often be frustrating due to language barriers and communication difficulty. That is not the case here and I received exceptional customer service and the product has worked exactly as advertised.

Very useful tool
I don't have enough electrical outlets in my home office, so I've got multiple-outlet surge protectors plugged into almost every one. I started to become concerned that I might be getting close to overload on some of them and on the room's circuit as well and wanted a way to check. The Poniie PN2000 was the perfect answer.Plugging each surge protector, one by one, into the PN2000 and then operating all the devices connected to it gave me a clear idea on the current it was drawing. Printing a document while using the HEPA air filter and Humidifer on Max and the lamp turned on--you get the idea. I was able to determine that I was using only a few amps on each wall outlet and that I was well below the room's 15-amp circuit limit when all were in use.The PN2000 comes with a 1-foot heavy-duty extension cord that you can use to get the Poniie away from the outlet you're testing. Some of my outlets were pretty inaccessible and this was a great help. But even with that aid and the PN2000's illuminated LCD screen, if the wall outlet was behind a piece of furniture, I still had to bend myself into some uncomfortable positions in order to see the display. If I could make just one suggestion, it would be to provide a slightly longer cord, perhaps 2 feet, and with a flat plug. The printed user manual is clear, complete and easy to understand. I would like to have seen a certification from UL or a similar organization but none was present. The PN2000 is made in China.

Great way to check phantom draw.
I like that this meter doesn't need batteries. I used it to check the running power of a freezer and fridge not just the starting draw, because I wanted to know what I could all run off my generator when the power is out. I also discovered that a spare tv in the basement was drawing 40 watts when off. So it's now unplugged. The meter is very easy to use and read. The price is reasonable as well.
