Money well spent
This is the best 400 I have spent. Is this a 1000 sound stream nope! And I am ok with that. First off sun to my back you can still see the screen don’t know what others are complaining about and I could see it with a tinted visor on. Just as good as I could the HD factory radio. The sound quality is good it’s a plug and play deal. Pre-outs for a amp if you want that I got this mostly for Apple car play for maps and tha works great I added a wireless adapter I had laying around and boom it’s wireless Apple car play now ! Other talking about the cable being to short it’s not the grommet attached to is to far forward no big deal I too. A sharp blade and cut if of the wile put it where I wanted it and slipped it back on. No big deal. So pay 600 - 800 if you want a sound stream but for me this fit the bill just fine logged about 1000 miles so far has not spiked a beat money well spent

My honest review
I wanted to give it a few days of use to really test this before reviewing it. Yes it is not a sound stream, doesn’t have the extra dash features, and it is much cheaper. That being said for what it is, it’s perfect. Install was easy enough to do, maybe took an hour and half to carefully lay everything out and get it together. Now for the functionality, it loads up quick. The CarPlay feature - everyone says to get a wireless adaptor….no need to do that. I hooked my phone up via usb and after that it asked to use wireless CarPlay and boom it worked wirelessly. If you need to charge up while riding by all means plug it in. Now for the one negative quality, the screen is shiny, which looks nice against all the gloss black but it does reflect the sun making it hard to see but you can still see it. Hopefully the unit will last and I will stand by this review. Overall, I would buy it again.

Good but not Great / Does the company still exist?
Bought this for my 2017 H-D Street Glide FLHXS. First the good: It's relatively easy to install, even for a novice. It's time consuming, but that's only because of all the nuts and bolts that have to be worked on the motorcycle's fairing and has nothing to do with the device. The device is, literally, plug-and-play. Fit and finish is excellent and it looks great. Now the bad: I've lost use of my toggle switch on the right handlebar. It now controls only the volume, same as the toggle switch on the left. I'd say the bluetooth connection menu is also archaic and not very intuitive. But in CarPlay mode, the device is like any other CarPlay found in cars. The instructions and schematics that come with this are also woefully lacking. There is a cable attached to the device that has no counterpart connection on my hog, and the schematics are silent on what the cable is for. Customer service is non-existent. Not even sure this company is functioning because even when I call the sales number it just rings and rings and rings. I would stay clear of this product if nothing else then you'll spend $400+ and end up with something that might or might not work and there will be no support for it whatsoever.

Better than I thought.
I'm here to give an honest and unbiased review because I'm qualified to do so. I have a Soundstream Reserve HD14+ that I've had since 2022 when it first came out. Within 2 years, I have had to send the unit back to Volunteer Audio twice for a blank screen and a ribbon connector issue. After sending it back the second time, I decided to give the Power Acoustik HD-14K a try because I really needed a radio and they were taking too long to return it to me. After receiving the PA HD-14K and installing it, I was pleasantly surprised how good the unit sounded on my bike compared to the Soundstream. Keep in mind, Power Acoustik & Soundstream are owned by the same company so there are similarities between the two. The Soundstream is "supposed" to be the higher end radio. The only difference in this unit and the HDHU14+ was that the PA didn't have crossover adjustments as opposed to the former. Other than that, it's pretty much the same radio. After finally receiving my HD14+ back from Volunteer Audio, I can't find the nerve to send this one back because it's been so good for the 3 weeks I've had it. Not only is it half the price but I feel it has everything I need to maximize my (2) 6.5 speakers, (6) tweeters, (2) 10 inch speakers in the bags and (2) Sound Digital amps in the fairing. I would even go as far to say it sounds better than the Soundstream. So in closing, I feel like if you're going to pay $900-$1600 for a radio(depending on the Soundstream model)then you shouldn't have all of the issues I've had within 2 years. It would be much more cost effective to settle for the Power Acoustik to be honest. At least it won't break your pockets if anything were to happen in the future. I could live with this radio lasting 3-4 years(or hopefully more)with no issues at this price point. When you're paying $1600 for a Soundstream Reserve V2, I'm sure you expect a durable product. And that's not to say I don't like Soundstream products but it's to say if there is a cheaper option that is pretty much the same then why not opt for that. Times are rough and we work too hard for our money to get a subpar product at a premium price. Hope this review helps.

Moisture Failure
Pros: unit operates as advertised and installation instructions are clear and concise except for one exception that I will get into later. Overall very happy with the sound and quality of this product. Now the con and the reason they only get three stars: Their advertising says that the unit is “IPX6 Liquid Ingress Protection”. What they fail to mention is that the handlebar control module is not. Mine got moisture in it and caused the unit to first, come on by itself and then second, quit working. I emailed product support and received this reply: “interface modules are conformal coated to prevent damage from moisture, they would only have issues if flooded with water that puddled inside and would likely start building corrosion. we only see this if module is left hanging where water can run down the harness, seep through pins on plug and in to module box. Any module should be mounted in a way that the wiring has drip loop wiring running down and away from module, not module hanging vertically for water to run down harness strait in to the module. I personally would recommend dielectric grease in the plugs of any electrical component that is in a position where there may be water.” I found no evidence of any “coating” on the module. Nor was the module mounted where water could “puddle” around it. Moisture may have ran down the wires, however as I didn’t consider this on installation because “IPX6 Liquid Ingress Protection”. They fail to mention any of this in their installation instructions. I emailed the warranty department twice hoping that even though the unit was out of warranty, they would make good on the module. I never received an answer so I bought another module myself as the unit will not work without it. I sealed it with silicone spray and used dielectric grease on the plugs and put it in a ziplock bag and zip tied under the shelf the radio mounts to so I hope that will be enough. It is disappointing that a product that is advertised water resistant has a part that is included that is not water resistant and they don’t inform you of this.

Really is Plug & Play
Simple plug & play. Usb rubber gromet was to big but I used the old1 which made the cable a Little more short. Connected a short usb to c-charger cable to use to charge my phone. Puts out plenty of watts! More cost efficient than other products. I would recommend!

Great radio upgrade at a great price.
The installation instructions on the unit was easy to follow. Everything works wonderfully. True plug and play. Android auto, radio and features connected without any issues. Controls, both on radio and handlebars work great Sound quality is good. The screen is easy to see in the daylight. Great upgrade for the price.

Very nice
Put this into my 14 street glide, overall solid unit, good brightness and controls. I really wanted something with car play so I could have navigation up better. Easy to use, connects decently well, it is a wired car play system- keep that in mind, makes no difference to me but just a heads up in case you are looking for wireless, however Bluetooth and others can be done without being plugged in which is good.

It's nice but...
It works and being able to have google maps instead of the factory GPS is nice, but you have to have your phone plugged into the usb connector in order to use android auto, which kind of defeats the purpose of you ask me. If you hook up to it via Bluetooth then you should be able to use android auto wirelessly and just leave your phone in your pocket. But this is not the case. I still need a phone mount and usb cable as my phone and I think most phones now are too big to fit in the compartment where the usb cable is. I also found my phone was heating up quite a bit while plugged in. Hopefully the air movement while going down the road will prevent it from overheating. The other thing is your handle bar controls only work for volume, switching songs/radio station and changing the source. I mean I guess that's all you really need, but you can no longer scroll around the screen with the thumb stick. You will need to touch the screen more often then with the factory head unit. For these reasons I'm only giving it 3 stars as I'm very disappointed in having to plug my phone in to use android auto.
