Harrison's High Potency Super Fine 1lb

Expensive, and more so if you particularly need the 'ultra fine' High Potency version. However, all of the Harrison's products are to be recommended as they ensure your birds don't selectively pick out the bits they prefer from a conventional seeds and sunflower mix, and are, in my opinion, better than the other complete nugget bird foods offered in the UK. When weaning young cockatiels the ultra fine grind High Potency formula is so useful for ensuring your birds are consuming sufficient nourishing food even if they are only picking at a teaspoon of this food in a day. The high potency formula serves its purpose perfectly in circumstance where a bird may be eating less than normal or is requiring an extra boost after stress such as breeding, moulting, illness or being in poor condition. To obtain the absolute best from using this relatively expensive feed option it is worth following the manufacturer's guidelines in only buying a bag sufficient to last for >6 weeks Guidelines on the bag stating: 1. Use the food within 4-6 weeks after opening. 2. Squeeze all air out of the bag and zip it shut at the top to keep the food fresh. 3. If the zip lock is removed or damaged, fold the top over several times and secure it with a "chip clip" or clothespin. 4. Keep the food in its original bag and do not store it in plastic bags or Tupperware®. 5. Store at room temperature; refrigeration is not necessary. I've always kept my Harrison's foods in the salad drawer of my kitchen fridge to help maintain its nutrient value but as you can see this isn't necessary. Keeping the open bag free from excess air and tightly zip-locked until it's used up is the best way of ensuring the antioxidants don't deplete too rapidly and before the food is used within the 4-6 week optimum freshness period.

I am not sure about storage of these as looks like they need storing in the fridge? Hence the 4 star. I have added these in the cage in a separate container to monitor if they eat them. So far am unsure if they like them. I have found them on the bottom of the cage so think they have tried them,

Got these for my sickly budgie (she's had a weak immune system since birth) as she was previously on Zupreem Natural pellets, however over time she started becoming more lethargic and disinterested in playing or socialising. I suspected the food, as I'm pretty sure the Zupreem stuff is high in sugar. Anyway, switched to these and the change in her personality is amazing, she's curious and playful again, she climbs and flies around happily and this is definitely due to the change in pellets. As for the product it was SO easy to switch over (she's rejected all other pellets prior) she didn't need any persuasion at all. Definitely worth paying the money for, my little baby's quality of life has improved so much, thank you!!

After severe illness, I decided to start feed my lovebird with Harrison's High potency super fine. Our lovebird started to eat Harrison's imediately and I can already see the difference in him. Delivery came one day earlier than stated
