Decent microwave with good power and doesn't take up much room.
So far so good. The power output is decent, it appears to heat evenly, and it fits well on my countertop while still be large enough inside for a large dinner plate or bowl. I don't think it's any louder than my last microwave, but it does have more of a buzz to it than a hum, which makes it seem louder. It'll take a little getting used to. That said, I have no real complaints. It works well and is easy to use.

Decent unit. Good buy.
This unit was larger than expected, which is good for me. Nice amount of room inside. Decent controls and seems to be made of quality material. I would recommend this product for anyone. It has a feature that I do not like, which entails that the unit has to be paused or the cooking canceled before you can open the door. But they have a setting in it programming that you can actually defeat that default feature. And it actually works for me. Yayy

Found a Great Microwave!
Our Farberware microwave conked out had gotten from Kohl's 8 years ago. It lasted a good long time. It was malfunctioning, it started spinning without even pushing a button. We did not want to go without a microwave too long, its such an inconvenience. Looked under reviews on Amazon and I tell you what those reviews really helped me out. I decided on Toshiba, and it has been terrific! Almost have had it a week. It's got stuff on there that I have to read up on. It's works great, sounds great. When you leave seconds on there after reheating something. It'll clear out on its own minutes later, which is very cool. The sound is fine, the turntable, the size, its all great! I believe most are having those childproof lock situation things and this is fine. What we have to do is make sure to press and lift up on the handle & it opens. Nothing complicated at all. I would definitely refer everyone to this microwave!

Full featured microwave
Have had it now for three months. Works great, perfect size. Has all the features of a under cabinet unit and sufficient power for everyday operations. There are many more complex operations with program instructions in the manual that I don’t think I will ever use. If you don’t use these often, you will need the manual for step by step instructions. Operation is quiet. Only thing I dislike is the confusing placement of the very small power level and custom cook time cycle buttons directly above the start and stop buttons. Since they are used often, these buttons should have been prominently displayed at top of keypad rather than almost hidden at bottom of keypad. They don’t even look like separate buttons. Poor location design but, overall, this is a great microwave priced reasonably.

Looks and Works GREAT!
Ready to go right out of the box. Well-made, looks good and works very well. Easy to learn how to use and has lots of simple button direction.

Small but Powerful Microwave
This little microwave might be small, but it packs a punch. It heats most dishes up in a minute or less and evenly heats food as it cooks. It's easy to clean, has a removeable glass turntable and its size fits perfectly on my small counter. I like the locking door feature as well. The hidden button in the top of the handle is easy to press as you open the door but will not come open if a child pulls on the bottom of the handle. Excellent purchase I'd be willing to make again if needed.

Excellent Microwave! Great price!
Excellent microwave! I have a small kitchen but for a 1000 watt microwave its fairly small in the amount of space it takes up but very spacious inside. Ive just used it just for basic things so far & haven't tried all the special features yet but already the best microwave I've ever owned.

Jury is out
Updated 3/20/26 Another person atToshiba contacted me in March regarding this issue. I had given up after the runaround and bought another microwave. The new email stated they would take care of the issue. They asked for some of the repeat information, and I sent it, not believing it would be helpful. Within a few days, they notified me that they were sending me a new microwave. I received the replacement microwave this week. I've used it one time, and it works great. My other one worked great for 10 months hopefully this one lasts longer. I was asked to update my review since a replacement was sent to me. It was a lot to get a replacement, and I had already purchased a new microwave from a different brand. It took 2 months for this issue to get taken care of. Guess I'll update this review if the microwave doesn't work long. Previous review I purchased this microwave in 2025 after mine quit working. I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews before deciding on this one. This past weekend, I was reheating carrots in the microwave and must have heard a noise. The microwave had been running less than 30 seconds, so I knew they weren't hot. I continued in the kitchen and caught a flash out of the corner of my eye. A few seconds later, a second flash. This time I watched the microwave and saw flames shooting out the side of the inside of the microwave. I immediately shut it off and unplugged it. Two carrots were black from where the flames was hitting it. They were still cold from the refrigerator, so they hadn't been in there long. I contacted Toshiba because it's not even a year old. I received an email on Monday, which impressed me with their quick response. They asked for my address, a picture of the model number, and a copy of my receipt. I immediately responded. I received an email on Tuesday, with a list of 8 questions. I immediately responded. I received an email on Wednesday, with a request for more pictures. I immediately responded. I received an email on Thursday with a new request. I spent two hours on Thursday working on their new request. At this point, it feels like a game from them with a new request every day. Plus, the one email a day. I've ordered a new microwave, from a different brand. I would never buy from this company again and definitely do not recommend it.

I was going through my past orders and didn't realize I hadn't reviewed this yet, which is crazy because I feel like evangelizing about it, I love it that much. I've had this oven for 3 years now, and I couldn't possibly be happier with it. It functions well, it's really easy to use and clean, and best of all NO BEEPING. The silent operation of this oven is its best feature and the primary reason I ordered it. I know most people are probably happy to operate it with the beeping sounds, but if having the option to silence all beeping sounds is as essential to you as it was to me then this is your oven. Once in awhile when the power goes out I'll have to reset the silent mode when I reset the clock, but other than that I never hear any beeping from it whatsoever. Not when the buttons are pressed, not when the cooking cycle is done. I've seen some reviews saying it's loud when cooking, but it's no louder than any other microwave - I don't know what these people are talking about. All microwaves make some noise when cooking.

We searched endlessly for a new microwave for our new home and happened to come across a Wirecutter article (do a web search for it) where they took some of the most popular microwaves and put them through a ton of tests. The Toshiba models were at the top of the list for even cooking (use potatoes for testing), best popcorn performance with the least amount of kernels left at the end, good defrost performance, intuitive easy to use controls and their one year warranty you supposedly don't send the unit back, rather you provide them with a receipt and they issue you a refund cheque which is much appreciated. So far we love the unit as it's easy for our kids to use as it has that basic 1980's style control layout not one of these new ones that tries to be some science fiction 2120 food preparation units. Popcorn bags come out perfect and reheating food is nice and even. First Toshiba microwave I've ever owned and I don't know I'll ever go back to Panasonic after this. Update April 2024: The unit has now died. It did a bag of microwave popcorn, then another family went to use it and the interior light was going on and off like it was shorting out and the screen was doing the same. Unplugged, plugged back in but same issue. At this point it's faulty and no idea where to begin to try and repair it so off to electronic recycling it goes. Managed to get 4.5 years out of it but not super impressed.

The turntable in my 15 year old Sharp, stopped working and the outside of the microwave was getting really hot. I decided that it was time for a change. After a lot of product comparisons, I chose this Toshiba. The size is exactly what I wanted. The oven looks good and is very stable on my counter top. I have no issues with the handle, even though my Sharp just had a button to push, to open the door. It also doesn't weigh that much. My major issue are the functions. There is a lot you can do with this microwave. But although it is the same wattage as my old oven, it just doesn't heat as well. Something that took 10 minutes in the old one, takes about 13-15 in this one. The automatic popcorn setting is ridiculous. Cooking time is about 1 min and 15 seconds. I had to put the popcorn back in for another minute. It really didn't come out very edible. I am not technologically challenged at all, but I just don't find this oven intuitive. It's a bit too complicated and lacks basic heating logic! I never know what the actual power level is, there are too many steps for a lot of the functions and in general, you have to actually memorize most of the functions - or constantly refer to the manual. I find one of the easier functions is the sensor reheat. So far most of the items have heated up very well, although you should keep an eye on the food and check it. I nearly had a bowl of soup boil over. My favorite feature is actually the timer. It's easy to use, especially compared to my old oven. Setting the clock isn't an issue either. Please note that I am doing a practical comparison of this oven, to 3 other ovens which I use regularly. They are older and all are much more user-friendly. A positive note; for anyone who has eyesight issues, you can easily operate the function buttons without using reading glasses, especially once you are used to the placement of the buttons. Also, the manual is well written and easy to understand. Overall, I would probably recommend this oven. I am pretty sure that I will get used, after I've had it longer (I have only had it for about a week). I just hope that this oven lasts as long as the others I have owned.
