Bought one player and exchanged it for another one. Both performed the same. Bottom line I returned the second player and got my money back. The player displays external SSDs when both the USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports are connected to SSDs. I can watch media from either SSD; however, the SSD connected to the USB 3.0 port will continuously drop, reconnect, drop, reconnect, etc. from the player. During this period, the SSD will produce a "clicking" noise each time it reconnects/drops. The player will not display an external SSD when (1) SSD is connected to either the USB 3.0 or 2.0 port. I had (3) SSD and tried varying combinations. I gave it one star because the player will play from the USB2.0 port. No Customer support. Sent emails to MYPIN and they failed to respond.

We gave one for our RV. Nice little device. Slap a medium sized SSD and you got weekends of viewing. We even got 2 more as gifts. One for a team mate who lives waaaaay in the country and one to a neighbor to boost their library. Only down side us menu navigation and clip art. It could have some.

I had some old tapes converted to digital and this device makes it easy to watch them in tv. It doesn’t come win an HDMI cord though so be sure to order one.

This plays almost everything, you jsut need to buy a harddrive!

A media player without fast forward and rewind function is unacceptable.

My second unit purchased . Apparently this is second generation . 1st gen had controls on unit and remote. This unit , remote is dominant control . Both units have some difficulty using USB as host .... Intermittent recognition (Windows 11) ? Font size on instructions could be larger little more detailed .

Way to play movies and digital files on tv. Supports common formats. Easy to set up. Even works with older tv.

Excellent device. It runs well and is quick. Using it to power the backseat media of a van for children. Basic know how of a computer helps.

Impressive. Basically a SATA external drive encasement with USB 3.0, and a remote. (You will need 2x AAA batteries for remote to get started, sold separately) Plugs into anything (you may need a HDMI cable - sold separately). Included RCA Hookup (R/Y/W) was a breeze. IR Remote offers simple interface for photos, music, media (movies, podcasts, home videos from your cellphone) YOUR USB and SD card / MicroSD adapter (each sold separately) also plugs into the front of the unit. This becomes "EXTERNAL" file source, when selecting playback. Powers up. Plays clean. Remote is functional - controls take a little practice to get used to. USB 3.0 cable for back of unit turns this into a Media Backup Drive. You will need to provide your own SATA laptop hard drive - SSD or Normal. Screwdriver provided allows you to open unit and install whatever backup drive you wish. Which becomes "INTERNAL" source onscreen with remote. Tidy and compact media player.

unfortunately did not work as advertised. I tried to extend the capacity by installing a sata drive. But the player does not seem to recognize it. Its a waste of money. I still have to plug an external hd. Plays video but not without issues. Sound is off. Item arrived promptly. Good service but too bad the 2.5 SATA drive didn't work with it.

One weird negative is that a flash drive of 64 gig , the device won't read it. (weird) A flash drive of 32 gig, works fine. So .. one has to not use too large of a flash drive. Aside from that ... works great. My need was to play MP4 video from a flash drive onto a television that is NOT a Smart TV (no internet). It does this job nicely. I bought two in fact (for two different locations). Weird about the 64 gig thing, but not a big deal. Just use 32 gig flash drives and it's all good.

Burned out my old media box with the wrong adapter. This is a very good unit that plays all the formats you throw at it. Inexpensive replacement. Recommended buy. Note the 4GB filesize limit. That meands any internal harddrive you mount inside needs to be formatted in FAT 32. It's amazing that is still used these days fot harddrives.
