good project knife
I think of this as a "project knife". At this price point, it's a smokin' deal and a good knife. With a few hours of work, it can rival some much more expensive knives. When mine arrived one of the bolts that holds the scales on was slightly loose. It came very sharp, the sheath is good, fit and finish are good. With a little locktite on the scale bolts, you're good to go. If you want a project, like I did, you could sand the sharp corners off the handle, epoxy the scales, locktite the bolts and put a convex edge on it. Now mine reminds me of a fallkniven A1 at a fraction of the price.

Great knife
Was originally looking for a USA made knife, but only wanted to spend 2 figures on a knife, not three figures. At that point, even most USA companies have their cheaper lines imported. So, taking the chance, and after seeing video reviews, I can definitely say this knife punches above its weight class. It is thick, it is heavy, it is sharp. I find it perfect for tossing around. Scales are excellent. Torx screws hold them on. Sheath converts to horizontal carry easy enough, although the inter-screws are not slotted nor hex shaped. This means that while tightening the screw portion, the backside will free spin. Either locktite or replacement inter-screws will remedy this. The sheath itself is a thin profile without extra molding. The overall length in sheath borders on too long for concealed horizontal carry along the back hips. This being said from someone with a 34” waistline. It starts to poke out on both sides with an overshirt covering it. For tactical wear, exposed, it would be totally fine. It doesn’t stick out far enough to snag on doorways or anything. Sheath retention of the blade is very positive, not worries of the blade falling out. The blade itself appears evenly ground and symmetrical. Grip size is great for hands that fit large sized gloves.

Good knife for the value
First review out of the box with light use. The knife isn't very sharp out of the box and the grind was off some. Not a perfect edge. For that I took off a star. I ran it across some stones to fix the edge then stropped it and it's sharp now with a polished edge. I have some African Sapele hardwood laying around so I shaved a piece down to round the edges. It cut through the wood cleanly and very easily. The knife has some heft so it's not a light knife. But that heft also makes it easy to cut. It's comfortable in the hand and well balanced. As an owner of dozens of knives of every kind and price, I recommend this knife for sure. Especially when you take into account the quality and cost.

a perfect knife for the woods EF131
I finally found my perfect camping, survival and bush craft knife. The straight Micarta handle feels very good in the hand without any annoying finger grooves that never spaced right. The spine is not only thick it is 90 degree for striking fire rod and for batoning. There is some weight to the knife due to the thick stock and that is a good thing. Unlike most knives that have a flat grind all the way to the tip and leaving a very fine and pointy yet super thin tip. Eafengrow left a lot of metal at the tip and that tip is strong and robust and I can't see the tip will break off at any task. At about 5.5 inch the blade is just the right length for carrying and bush crafting. The DC53 steel is D2 steel on steroid and a perfect steel for this type of knife. It is hard and tough and withstands chopping and thrusting and still keeps an keen edge. The sheath a simple but works and the retention is just right not too tight and not too loose. The belt clip is good but it is mounted at mid way on the sheath and that makes the handle ride too high when hooked onto my belt and it becomes a little awkward to pull the knife out. Although the belt clip can be mounted vertically or horizontally but not any angle in between. I never like carrying a 10 plus inches knife horizontally. I will change out the belt clip with the one that can rotate up to 90 degree so I can carry the knife vertically and rotate downward to any convenient position to withdraw the knife. This is the best designed outdoor knife in my opinion.

nice
size is really nice its not to big and not to small it comes sharp and its functional to carry camping for small tasks and even medium tasks haven't put it through large tasks like buttoning wood and stuff like that but cutting ability is really well, it does have some sharp edges where sharp edges shouldn't be so it could be better but all in all its decent i especially like the thickness on the spine.

Nice knife couple of design issues
I really want to like this knife, its beautiful. Having said that, however, there are a few issues that make it hard to use. First the good. Fits perfectly in the sheath, nice tension, easy to withdraw, no rattle. Sharper than most knives out of the box. its nearly perfectly balanced. The fit and finish is decent. Part of the spine has a nice sharp 90 degree edge so it throws sparks well. The jimping has a nice feel...sharp enough to be useful without cutting into a finger or being uncomfortable. Having said that, there are a couple problems that make this knife hard to use without gloves. First, i wish the handle was a bit thicker or wider and i wish the handle was a bit grippier. I have medium, average size hands and because of the weight of the knife, i dont feel i have a strong purchase. That brings me to a design problem that is hard to overlook. Because of the size and weight of the knife, im wanting to choke up for finer work, but the front lanyard hole material is nearly as sharp as the knife...it will cut you. It serves almost as a guard, which you need with this knife, but the guard is dangerous. Also the jimping is so far back that using it requires your hand to be farther back on the handle at a really awkward and uncomfortable angle.

Great knife, but needed some reprofiling
Bought this as a new camping knife. Solid knife overall. However, when I received it, the sharpening of the tip was not straight and symmetrical. Had to put in some time re-profiling the tip. However, the rest of the cutting edge was hair-shaving sharp out of the box. The 90-degree spine is nice and will definitely help with fat wood shavings and sparking a ferro rod. The handle is comfy and fits perfect in my med/lrg hands. No real hotspots from what I can tell, though I have yet to use it for an extended period of time (just simple garden/yard work so far). The fit of the sheath is outstanding: tight fit, no rattle. If it wasn't for the crooked tip, I would've definitely given it 5 starts. It's still a great knife and highly recommend it. Can't wait to take it on my next camping trip. Just make sure you check the fit and finish.
