Good Quality Kettle
This is a nice medium priced kettle made under the Salter brand, who I only knew of as a manufacturer of kitchen and bathroom scales. The kettle has a capacity of 1.7 litres although it appears much smaller than the kettle it replaced which had the same capacity. The finish of the body is satin steel with a clear trim about one quarter of the way up the body. This glows bright blue when the kettle is operating. The kettle boils water quite quickly and not too noisily. It also switches off quite quickly when the water reaches boiling point so it doesn't steam up the kitchenIt has a nice sized spout so water pours slowly and evenly . One thing to note is if you tip the kettle too far to get a faster flow, water will spill out of the lid. This is because behind the filter there is a baffle plate designed to prevent boiling water from being ejected from the spout and this restricts the flow slightly. This is a safety measure as when full to capacity the water level is very close to the spout. The filter is much easier to access for cleaning than previous kettles I have owned. Finally there is a two year guarantee on the product, extended to three years on registration with the company so it appears the company it confident of it's durability.

Excellent kettle
This is an excellent kettle and has all the features I was looking for: made of steel, has no plastic parts inside, boils water rapidly and quietly, not heavy, convenient to hold, I like the shape. Excellent product. Replaced my old Crux kettle and performs even better!

Nice kettle, does what wanted
Like the style of this and boiling time is decent, was after a glass kettle and this ticked all the boxes. It does show hard water stains quickly and needs descaling frequently but expected this due to area we live. Easy to use and great for making what's wanted.

Very Disappointing
It started off really good; it looked great and of course, did its job. But then things went downhill quite quickly. Steam comes out of the on/off lever area and the base seams to leak too. It's not only a little over a year old and it needs replacing because it looks awful. For a while the kettle didn't switch off but then it started working ok again.I expect a kettle to last much more than a year and I think a name like Salter should make sure their goods are of the level we expect from such a well known brand.

Excellent kettle, very well designed
Waited a while before leaving a review as have been fed up in recent years with badly designed kitchenware, including kettles which have last 5 minutes, with issues with everything from dribbling extra puddles of hot water out of lids when pouring to having switches which break really easily. This kettle, however, is great! Pours brilliantly well without dribbling everywhere out of the lid, and has a good steady stream rather than a gush, really easy to fill as has a proper removable lid which fits perfectly instead of a daft lightweight flap, and it's BPA free, no plastic so the water tastes perfect. I have a soft spot for blue lights so my last few kettles have maximised on this by being those glass kettles which light up blue when on, BUT I've had nothing but palaver with them, and have been through several in the last couple of years but this kettle keeps me happy on that score too as it has a ring of blue lights all the way round the bottom when it's switched on. It's a good size too as we make 6 mugs of tea for most boils, and it gets a LOT of use but is still absolutely reliable. So far so brilliant.

Impressive kettle for the price
Purchased for my daughter for uni, well made with good quality plastics and glass finish. Daughter well impressed with the colour changing LEDs, blue when on standby, red when in use.
