Balancing hormones due to suspected estrogen dominance
I'll start at the beginning - two years ago, I started a new birth control with a higher amount of estrogen and started gaining a lot of weight over the next few months. Realizing that was probably the cause, I switched back to my old stuff, but the weight didn't come back off. I eat relatively healthy - wouldn't call myself a health nut, but the majority of my meals are fresh whole foods. And I don't exercise every day, but once or twice a week, and I walk up to 4 miles a day at work. Anyway, I tried to diet and followed rigorous workout regimes without seeing any weight loss - in fact, my weight was still steadily creeping up.I went to the doctor with my suspicions of a hormone imbalance, especially after developing endometriosis, ovarian cysts and having irregular bleeding. But they did the blood work and said I was fine (I think they only checked my thyroid though).Anyway, long story short, I was doing some of my own research, started reading about estrogen dominance and it sounded oh so familiar. I found somewhere along the way that Brevail may be able to help with that, with one of it's functions being estrogen balance. Thought that it couldn't hurt, so I gave it a shot. Within a week, I'm down 10 pounds. Now, I think most of that is probably water weight, but, it's been a long time since I've seen a number that low on the scale - and it feels awesome!I'll definitely be keeping up with these supplements for years to come!(I must say, I'm not a doctor, and wouldn't even consider myself very hormone savvy. This is just what's working for me.)
