The balm is quite greasy, so it is best applied at night (make sure you cover the area to prevent marks on the bedding) or at home.You only need a small amount, and despite the greasiness, it does absorb well into your skin and provides almost a protective layer.It's fragrance-free, cruelty-free, vegan, and deemed suitable and safe to use on new-borns.I found it best to apply at night, cover the areas with long-sleeve pjs, socks, or gloves, let the cream work overnight, and then wash off in the morning, as although absorbent, it doesn't fully absorb, and sometimes bits of clothing fluff can stick to it on your skin.I think for the price, it's quite good and handy to have in your cupboard for when your skin gets dry, sore, or eczema flares.

With all the hand washing after Covid this keeps the hands from drying out completely. This particular brand is a little greasier than others.

This unfortunately was a lot greasier than I was expecting - kind of like a wet vaseline.You do only need a tiny amount, which is good, and I think it does form a protective layer on your skin to prevent dryness and irritation.However, I prefer a creamier texture which is more easily absorbed. If I were to ever use an ointment like this, I'd just use vaseline or at a pinch aqueous cream. Both probably cheaper and better!This isn't a bad ointment, it's just not exactly to my taste and I prefer alternatives.

It might be difficult to see from the photo but when I managed to get the jar open (which was not easy as the plastic tear away strip was extremely stiff) I discovered the jar was only half full!

this ointment works well. for me personally i don't much like things on my skin that are very oily (however for dry skin its exactly what dry skin needs), i prefer creams that soak in, but if you just apply in small areas its not so much of an issue, or just apply at night in small quantities

Good cream to help sooth dry skin.The cream is similar to Vaseline texture wise which helps keep skin moisturised.A little is needed as it is greasy on the skin.For a small tube it is affordable

Didn't work for me, used before bed and was up in the night itching, so not as good as other ointment creams.

This product arrived well packaged in its box and the tube of 100ml was perfectly sealed internally and with clear information about directions and ingredients. My skin is a combination type, so I tried on different parts of the body. This is pretty much an ointment and in the ingredients there's white soft paraffin and liquid paraffin. It doesn't seem to absorb well but might also be my skin type. I find it useful to put on my hands before going out in the cold, which helps with moisture loss.All in all, it does seem a good quality ointment, but based on their name of 50/50 ointment, I was expecting more of a creamy texture, smoother and with higher water content to sink into the skin more easily.
