Good Product
I returned this item only because I needed the mini HDMI not the micro. I didn't realize they were two different sizes, I just thought the same items was just being called by two names. The quality seemed better than cheap but does not seem portible quality, meaning I wouldn't expect it to last too long if you were taking it with you everywhere you went. But if you leave it on your desk and use it occasionally, I think it would last you a while. My return went very smooth. I had to pay for shipping because it was my error and not because of defect. They credited me before I even sent it off so I could reorder the correct item. Seller was great.

Works fine when it is connected
I don't know whether the blame is with this cable or my laptop, but the micro connection is pretty loose, so if it gets jostled I often lose the connection to my monitor.I'm ordering a new HDMI cable anyway from a different maker, so when I get that I'll have better idea of whether the problem is the laptop's connection and I'll update.UPDATE: I got the new HDMI cable, from MediaBridge, and it does indeed fit the micro connection on my laptop better. Not perfectly snug but it doesn't lose connection when it moves like this one does. So I'd at least partially blame this connector. Also the MediaBridge cable seems a bit higher quality construction.

Okay adapter
Works for its purpose. The key issue with micro-HDMI cables and adapters is the fit on the micro-end. It must be snug to avoid coming loose too easily on a laptop and causing the external screen to go blank. This model is slightly above average on that account.

Connects Samsung Series 7 Slate to older DVI/VGA monitor perfectly.
Happy to find this. Good price, works perfectly. It can 'purple out' the color like any monitor cable that is a little loose, but reseating it works great. One practical thought is I use it with my slate laying flat on my desk. I'm not sure having it hang unsupported would last a long time (as others mentioned).Good buy.And as someone pointed out, I am using this cable to connect to a DVI port on an older monitor. Good, but not for me.
I bought this to use with my Asus Transformer Infinity tablet but never could get it to work. Upon various research I did on-line it appears that the mini micro-hdmi port on the tablet doesn't give out the extra +5 volts necessary to wake up the monitor. The tablet would recognize that an external display was connected but never had any luck beyond that. I'm sure it works well, just not for the Infinity tablet.

I'm sure it's fine...
I purchase this product to use with my home projector. The problem though, is that Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) doesn't recognize DVI format. After searching google and android forums I finally figured this out, but after purchasing this adapter. My hopes are that Goggle makes Android compatible with DVI. I also purchased a Micro HDMI to VGA adapter and that works flawlessly with VGA projectors.I'm running an Asus Transformer Prime (t201).

Works, but has serious issues
This adapter works but it appears that, depending on what is on the screen, the adapter will fail to work right, the screen will get horizontal lines on it, and sometimes go black. My monitor then displays "Input not Supported." Restarting the monitor appears to fix the problem, but it is extremely annoying to have to constantly reset my monitor.I'd buy a different one next time for sure.EDIT: I *finally* figured this out. The symptom happens when sound is played through the HDMI port. The adapter must pass some of that data to DVI, messing up the monitor. This has now happened on multiple monitors for me. I'm not sure if this is the adapter or monitors' fault.

worked great Samsung series 9 laptop to monitor
We tried to use a micro HDMI to connect to a monitor that had both VGA and DVI. The micro HDMI to VGA didn't do a good job, it was causing the external monitor to flicker. So we bought this one, it's micro HDMI to DVI and it has worked perfectly. Great product, did it's job!
