Practical, Vet-Backed Wormer That Delivers
The Bob Martin Clear Wormer for Cats is a no-frills, affordable solution that does exactly what it claims—quickly and effectively treats common intestinal worms, including roundworms and tapeworms. It’s a well-known product in the UK and has even been recommended by my vet as a suitable over-the-counter option when prescription-strength treatments aren’t immediately necessary. Each box includes two coated tablets containing Praziquantel, an antiparasitic ingredient that works by paralysing worms, preventing them from holding onto the intestinal wall. Once immobilised, the worms are naturally passed through your cat’s digestive tract. For roundworm control, Pyrantel embonate is often included in formulations like this, though it's always wise to double-check the packaging for exact composition. In our case, the results were apparent within a few days: improved appetite, more settled behaviour, and better overall condition in our indoor/outdoor tabby. The tablets are compact and coated, making them easier to hide in food—especially with strong-smelling treats like tuna or liver pâté. However, some cats (especially kittens) can be remarkably stubborn, and you may still need to resort to manual administration, which isn't always pleasant. Do weigh your cat beforehand: the dosage is one tablet per 4kg, and accurate dosing is essential for full effectiveness and safety. In terms of performance, I’ve used this during routine quarterly worming and after flea infestations (since fleas often transmit tapeworms). It’s worked reliably every time. We’ve had no visible worms in stools and no further signs of discomfort, such as scooting or stomach bloating.Pros: This worming treatment comes vet-recommended and is clinically proven, giving peace of mind that it actually works. It strikes a great balance between effectiveness and affordability, making it a reliable choice for regular use. It tackles both roundworms and tapeworms in a single dose, which simplifies pet care. With a long shelf-life and compact packaging, it’s easy to store and ideal to keep on hand. For households with multiple cats, it offers a cost-efficient solution that doesn’t compromise on quality.Cons: It’s important to note that this product isn’t suitable for kittens under 12 weeks old or for pregnant cats, so you'll need alternatives in those cases. Some cats may still spit the tablet out or refuse it, even when disguised in food, which can be frustrating. A few may also experience mild side effects such as temporary soft stools. Finally, while it treats worms effectively, it’s not a substitute for flea prevention—both issues should be managed together for full protection. All in all, this is a dependable staple in any cat owner's health routine. It's not glamorous, but it's effective, accessible, and more cost-efficient than many alternatives. If you’re looking for a straightforward, trusted wormer and are confident with giving tablets, Bob Martin delivers peace of mind in a small, affordable package.

Value for money
Bought this product before. Always done what is meant to. Comes with for tablets, 1 tablet per 10kg. Although there flavoured, my dogs wouldn't eat it without food, and my frenchie will eat anything. Simple to use.

There are better products out there. I recommend you try a vet approved one instead.
Ordered some of these and gave them to my cat. Then I read the horror stories surrounding them, my cat was absolutely fine, maybe a bit lethargic for the first few hours but other than that (and a VERY badly scratched set of hands) he seem to have responded well to the treatment, but I won't be using it again; instead I'll pay the slight it extra and get a spot-on style treatment from a vet, not only will I have intact hands (honestly it looks like I'll have some scars from him fighting back; it was a very large pill and he's a very big and strong Tomcat) afterwords, I'll have the peace of mind knowing that if he has a serious adverse reaction I will be able to get the vet out immediately and there will be (at least some, adverse reactions do happen) accountability. I also read that the vet only treatments are newer, more effective and carry less chance of harming your cat. While my cat doesn't seem to have had any issues tolerating the medicine (though it's only been 21 hours since he took it, so hopefully he will be fine; most adverse reactions seem to happen within the first few hours anyway, so fingers crossed) I would recommend that you consider getting the newer stuff from a vet instead an extra £10 or so is much less than the potential vet's bills if your cat does have a rare, serious reaction to this.To summarise, while it seems to have worked for my cat, there are better products out there that you can get from a vet, don't risk it like I did if you care about your cat; you'll only end up worrying for the next day.PS: To anyone who thinks that they were 'duped' by the "20/230mg" marking on the box, you weren't; this is the standard way of writing down the dosages of two medicines in combination form. Another example would be co-codamol which comes in strengths of 8/500mg (sold over the counter in pharmacies across the UK) up to 30/500 (available only on prescription) there are many other combination medicines too and they all use the same marking scheme on the box to denote the dosages; it isn't some sneaky marketing trick, you just need to read about what you're buying first.
