Teva was born in the grand canyon back in 1984, when a river guide rigged two velcro watchbands to an old pari of flip flops and created a shoe that wouldn't float away. Three decades later, we've grown up into an icon of comfort and utilitarian style Teva is an authentic icon in the outdoor industry. Founded in the early 1980's by a Colorado River guide, Teva pioneered the sport-sandal category. For more than 20 years on rivers, in canyons, and across the trails of the great outdoors, athletes and enthusiasts have traveled the globe comfortably and confidently in Teva footwear. Providing positive contributions to the world in which we play is at the core of everything Teva stands for. The Teva name itself is a Hebrew word meaning "nature" and the hand logo is the Hopi symbol for "friendship" and "water." Teva supports the outdoor athletic lifestyle and remains committed to innovation in outdoor performance footwear, the platforms which carry enthusiasts beyond the offices of the day-to-day and onto the rivers, trails, and canyons of the next adventure.

Great quality, attractive footwear
Teva doesn't make 1/2 sizes. I wear a 10 1/2 but, from past experience, know how these fit so I bought a 10. The fit is about perfect, bordering on almost-to-big. Teva offers a range of quality "sandals" and the cheaper, flat-bottomed shoes with simple straps are fine for the pool or beach, I prefer their more expensive types, with molded, heavy rubber soles and a heavier strap. These are perfect for wearing anywhere, all day, great for hiking, plus they come in a large variety of colors and prints. Very nice quality, these will last for years, even with heavy use.

Affordable Chaco Killers
I was in desperate need of a pair of sandals that lacked the toe suffocating thong which so many manufacturers feel are a necessity for stability. While users will need to adjust the various velcro straps for maximum comfort I found the overall design intuitive and the strap material themselves to be quite comfortable.Sizing: While these fit slightly wider and slightly larger than a similar tennis shoe I think that this is par for the course in regards to similar sandals and with the Teva's I do not feel that I am wearing a rubber clog as I do with Chaco's.Recommended Usage: These are truly the Jack of all Trade sandal's.Music Festivals ( Perfect for slogging through mud and spilled beer, not so great for standing still for two hours waiting on The Killers )Camping ( Great for average hiking and camping excursions - exposed nature make them not as suitable for rough brush )Caving ( These sandals work great in caves - the material of the soles make it an excellent versatile climbing shoe while still being breathable and not retaining water or mud )Weekend ( Self explanatory - chores, errands, long car rides )Overall 5/5Affordable, versatile, easy to clean.

good, but run large
Had to order size 9. I wear size 11 in Asics, 10.5 in most other shoes, and my last pair of Tevas was size 10.Very comfortable, seem like good quality materials. Loved my last pair, which were a similar style. Hope these last 10+ years like the old ones.

Exceptionally comfortable sandals
I love these sandals. I bought my original pair at a shoe store after trying 4 or 5 others. After wearing them for a while, I liked them so much, I decided to purchase a second pair. I'm very finicky about my shoes, so when I find a pair that I really like, I usually buy one or two more pairs so that I don't have to go through the unpleasant - for me, at least - process of shopping for new shoes. Very, very comfortable and nice traction. I usually wear a size 12 extra wide. The unusual thing about these shoes is that the size 11 D(M) fits me better than the 12 D(M) did (we discovered that when shopping for the original pair).

who wouldn't love Teva's
Love these shoes. This is my daughters 2nd pair. Her aunt borrowed her first pair and never returned them. the 2nd pair is not because the first pair wore out. They never wear out. They are the most durable and versatile shoes she has ever had. My daughter has issues with her feet that the Teva's address all around. They are completely adjustable, several widths available, great arch support. I cannot say enough good things about these shoes.

Good design, not the greatest material
I like the sandals, but in the desert heat dirt seems to build up between my foot and the sandal. The material is a little sticky when it's hot, so dirt accumulates and it takes a good hosing off to get them clean. I have to clean them at least once a week. Other than that I like the sandals, fit is good, they are pretty comfortable, and easy to put on and take off.

Tough as nails sandal
Ordered this sandal for my 13 YO son who has phenomenally wide feet. He has worn them as essentially his only shoes for 2 years, through all seasons. He has worn them on significant hikes, and is very rough with them; original style Teva's soles started to come loose after a couple of months before we bought these, which are still fully intact two years later. Good arch support and traction. Well worth the extra cost vs. standard Tevas!

Pretty darn good!
The original TEVA sandals I wore finally wore out. To add insult to injury, TEVA quit making that style. The Hurricane XLT is a good, sturdy shoe. The footbed is comfortable and the straps are really strong. While I can't replace the exact style, these are a pretty good replacement. Definitely worth giving a try if you are in the same spot I was.
