SusteeAquameter Set of 2, Plant Moisture Sensor, (White, Large, Refillable)

Not particularly accurate, but convenient.

Update: After a couple of weeks they are working fine. They just needed to take some time to change and one did go back to white once the moisture in the soil was gone.Ordered one set of the large white sticks (2 sticks). I have a new money tree plant with a pot diameter of 9 inches. First started with 1 stick and began slowly watering and waited the estimated time, which is approximately 25 minutes for the large sticks. After noticing no change, I began to water a bit more, slowly and waited again. I thought maybe the first stick was defective so I plugged my 3-in-1 moisture meter in and the soil was definitely wet. Lifted the pot up to check the hole at the bottom of the base and it was dripping water. I tried the second stick and waited. After some time while I was typing this review — I saw that the second stick was beginning to absorb the moisture and gradually change blue. Thankfully, I didn’t continue watering as it’s already slightly overwatered. I can’t put my full faith in the accuracy of these sticks. I’ll have to depend more on using my 3-in-1 moisture meter.

The instructions say that the moisture sensors should be good for three months. It has not been my experience that they last quite that long.

I live in the desert and careful watering can mean the difference between life and death for plants here. These have seriously helped this new gardener not over or under water her plants.

I had been looking for a means to monitor the moisture of my potted plants and had been considering some type of WIFI connected device when I came across this passive device. It is a visual monitor with a clear plastic area that is either white=dry or blue=moist. I have had it for only about a week but so far I am impressed by how simply it meets the need to see if water is needed. The indicator, which is claimed to last about 6 months, can be replaced. If this pans out as advertised it will be a winner.

All you need is just one look at the bulb to see if plant needs water. It is really handy and very helpful to keep the plant healthy. Absolutely recommend it. Just make sure you buy the right size according to the planter size.

They work so well. You know when your plant needs to be watered!

I was going out of town and didn’t want my plants to suffer while I was gone. I used the sticks so my son could easily tell if they needed water. They worked!
