Can you connect multiple devices of the same type? For instance, multiple bluetooth audio receivers in different areas of the home?

yes, but you're limited to 2 devices

Does this adapter support Bluetooth HFP version 1.8 profile WITH APT-X Adaptive? If not 1.8 then which HFP version?

it depends on the wireless earphones, earbuds, or headphones; now, what you want to do with the microphone on your wireless matters; your question cannot be answered with a yes or no..TJ

I have a mac laptop running Ventura has anyone installed this there easily enough and it worlk with headphones for video conferencing?

in product description MAC is mentioned; however, this does not mean it will work, or there won't be latency issues; I wish you well

What is the latency like? Is there any noticeable delay when watching music videos?

that's an issue; my issue may or may not match yours; I didn't test video and music; this is what I've found with the products I purchased: USB-A is really too slow; you need at least a BT adapter via USB-C; sorry, but you'll have to purchase and test it out; if it works return the product..TJ
