will this keep me safe if chemical weapons were used

Not even a little. Wrong plastic, wrong filters and not enough protection. Chemical weapons can enter the blood through the eyes. They're also considered "Blistering Agents" which means it'll destroy your eye-sight (painfully) too. They're caustic which means if it's not the correct, chemically resistant rubber it'll eat through the structure of the respirator.For that you need a "full face mask respirator" which is a "gas mask." Look up "3M FRM40" in the search bar, that's the one the military uses widely. There's also a "3M 7800" that'd do it. They're several hundred dollars. You'd also need a full protective suit which you need from 3M made of a certain type of rubber or a CW would eat through it too. If you seriously want to prepare for a CW attack, expect to spend at least ~$500 on the low end. You'll have to have back up filters ($50 a piece, last 30mins or so) and you need a $120 fitting test to make sure the fit is airtight because in a real emergency/attack situation, the concentrations would be so high the filters would be spent quickly.Bottom line, think REALLY hard about whether you actually need one before you prepare. Filters expire too. Unless you live in a big city, near a chemical plant and have a point of egress (somewhere to bug out too) don't bother. Also, you can't have a beard, masks don't fit right if you do.
