Make sure you have a USB 2 connector on the motherboard!
Before you buy this card, make sure you have the right connector on the motherboard. Take the lid off, and the thing you are looking for is two rows of pins, one above the other. One row should have 5 and the other row has 4. I thought my Dell Dimension 5000 would be fine, but the connector on the motherboard is something called FlexBay which is NOT THE SAME THING!I obviously can't tell you much about the product itself, other than the fact that it doesn't seem to fit well in this particular Dell casing - I had to wedge some cardboard underneath it to stop it drooping on one side (there are only screw holes on one side of the Dell case).

Cable length
It works as it should !!1. light overspill from the surface LED's making it difficult to determine what one is on. cure remove PCB and glue a strip of card between the LED's and display ports.2. Cable far to short for use in ex server 5 bay case. unable to locate a longer cable with correct connectors.

very good works perfectly
very good works perfectly. A cautionary note however. The TF card slot, you should avoid in my view because I have discovered a new way to wreck your tf card. It might be heat proof and x-ray proof but what it ain't is 'lateral pressure proof'. If you have a micro-sd card and you put it into a half depth tf slot downward or upward lateral pressure can snap the card in two. I discovered that with my portable card reader. I snapped an 8gb card that fortunately wasn't anything special. A cautionary note to the wise, always use the micro-sd converter caddy to read your micro sd cards or one of those usb readers that supports the whole back surface of the card not one of those half-height ones where the card protrudes that will snap someday because if it can happen it will. Otheriwse, a perfectly serene peice of kit, cheap as chips. Just don't imagine nothing can go wrong.

good, but only for 5 1/4 bays
This was near to perfect upto the point where I tried to fit it into the 3.5" bay of the Antec Sonata Designer case. I'm sure that using is as depicted in the 5 1/4" bay would have been no problem, but I didn't want to waste a big slot for that.On the little slot it just doesn't stick out enough as opposed to e.g. Sweex CR005V2 All-in-1 Int Card Reader . This is due to the 3.5" tray where the actual reader is in being very short and with only two holes. The only way I managed to fit it was by drilling holes in both the Sonata tray as well as the 3.5" plastic tray of this reader. But at least it reads all cards incl SDHC and in the BIOS even shows which type each slot is, which is handy when you want to boot of a card, which btw it does nicely!!!

Simple and effective
Excellent little device. Fits in a floppy drive bay or a 5.75 bay with the supplied adapter. One twin cable to connect; uses a 9-pin dual USB header from your motherboard. One leg of the cable goes to the single USB socket on the front panel. The other goes to the card reader. My machine did not require the software CD (XP) - just fired up instantly. Gives you four new drives; one for each slot. Top value for money.

Cheap and Nasty
Item arrived and it looks cheap. Fitted into my computer nicely as i have a 9 pin internal usb2 connector. XP had drivers for the other ports but does not recognise anything put into the usb slot. Cards put into the other slots work fine but you have to manually insert and remove rather than a sprung mechanism, so you could easily damage the connections. Also SD cards do not go in very far, so they stick out of the front of the unit quite a way and hence could be damaged. No manual or drivers included in my box. Returned item for refund

Total rubbish - AVOID
Poor quality product (ok it was cheap, and it's called Max Value) but data transfer from a USB pen drive would cut off before it was finished. Plugged same pen drive into a rear USB socket and no issues at all. No way I'd trust it with memory cards to download photos to my PC. Amazon service excellent as usual.
