Miracle Goop!
I got this to try and fix a hinge on my MSI laptop, which had suddenly given out one night when trying to close it (apparently that's a thing those computers are notorious for). Because of how the hinge was set up, I couldn't open or close the computer without the LCD screen trying to peel itself off the computer frame, which was always horrible to see. I used a C-clamp to keep the screen attached the frame, but that kept me from being able to actually close the laptop, effectively turning it into a small desktop computer. This wasn't super convenient and I needed to be able to pack my laptop for travel, so I decided to try epoxying the metal components of the hinge to the plastic of the frame to see if that would keep it together enough for me to able to open and close the computer without further damage happening. I had low expectations for how well this stuff would work, but I was on a time crunch and this was the most promising stuff I could find, so I gave it a go. I mixed it according to instructions (it has a bit of a funky chemical odor at this stage) , then quickly applied it inside the hinge to bond the metal and plastic. Then I used my trusty C-clamp to firmly keep the parts together while the epoxy cured. I left it like that for 24 hours (I think it normally takes 6 hours, but better safe than sorry), then gently removed the C-clamp. When I tried closing my computer.... it worked good as new! Literally, that hinge is sealed like a rock. It feels as strong as it did before it suddenly gave out. I also wiped off the excess epoxy while applying it, so while a little bit is still visible around the seams of the repair site, you'd never know it was there. No odor now that it cured, too. It's been about two weeks since I made the repair and the epoxy is still holding strong. I am not sure what else I would ever need to use this stuff on, but for small oddball repairs like mine, it was great. I'm confident that my laptop's life has been extended significantly, and if the other hinge goes out, I know exactly what to do. I never thought I'd get excited about epoxy, of all things, but believe me, this stuff is 100% worth it.

A Must-Have Repair Epoxy That Actually Holds
A Must-Have Repair Epoxy That Actually Holds I’ve used a lot of different adhesives and epoxies over the years, and this J-B Weld KwikWeld stands out because it’s both strong and easy to work with. It mixes smoothly, sets up quickly, and once cured it feels as solid as metal. I tried it on a small crack in a metal bracket and also on a plastic piece in the garage—both repairs have held up under stress. The quick set time means you don’t have to clamp things forever, but you do have enough working time to position parts properly before it hardens. One thing to keep in mind: once it sets, it’s not easy to undo, so make sure you’re precise in applying it. Also, while it bonds to many surfaces, for best results a clean, roughed-up surface makes a huge difference. Bottom line: A dependable, steel-reinforced epoxy that’s perfect to keep in the toolbox for quick, long-lasting fixes.

It did the job for me!
I have a nice drinking cup i use for my tea. it's aluminum, and 1 liter. I thickened the handle to include a wood and leather grip, and have been happily sipping tea for years with it. The other day I accidentally knocked it off the counter and onto the floor. And the top part or the handle popped loose. Since i don't own an aluminum spot welder, I went looking for an epoxy that handled both heat, and aluminum well. I settled on this product as being something simple, easily mixed, easily applied and purported to be able to do the job. This was not my first rodeo with epoxies. I've been using them for years. But it was my first with aluminum, which is often tricky to deal with due to the oxidation layer creating a weaker bond. Preparation was necessary, which mostly meant sanding the crap out of the surfaces being bound. That removes the oxidized aluminum and gives an otherwise polished surface some roughness for the epoxy to grip. Following the instructions, and knowing about how much I'd need, I mixed an appropriate amount, applied it to the surfaces, then used a couple of rubber bands to hold it in place. It began to set fairly quickly, so if you do use it, be ready to apply it as soon as it's mixed. It says it's a 6 minute work time, and I'd say it's probably closer to 5. Having had epoxies set up quickly, I was ready for that possibility. I let it cure overnight, and in the morning, I had my tea as usual. The bond itself is fairly secure, with no apparent wiggle. The epoxy had a slightly soft texture at first as it set, but over time that's hardened up nicely. So, if you have aluminum you need bonded, I know this will work well, with the proper prep and after waiting the full cure time before messing with it. Knowing HOW to use an epoxy is most of the battle, so follow the steps and give yourself time for things to set and you'll love this stuff.

Best, most versatile adhesive in my book!
I use a lot of this on many projects-- my favorite adhesive-- from my sculpture to household applications. It is super strong and beats anything else I have found (excepting the rare adhesive for very specialized use). You can file and saw it after it sets, paint it (rough up the surface a bit first) . . . its applicability goes on and on. The KwikWeld is supposedly not quite as strong as a sister product, but I have yet to find it fail in any way. Perhaps a mechanic would prefer the stronger product for metal to metal applications. I would advise a little experimentation, particularly regarding set time. It is not liquid, but almost "flowable" when first mixed (1:1 with the 2 tubes--simple to remember and easy to do; the colors are slightly different before mixing). I usually lay out a strip of one not touching a strip of the other (no interaction until they meet) to approximate the quantity (prepare a little more than you think you will need, because there won't be enough time to mix more once the process is underway), and then mix when I'm ready for the join. I use the mix when it reaches whatever consistency I need. It will begin to get tacky within minutes--experiment--and then will set rather suddenly, at which point your mix is kaput. At first you can slather it on to fill irregularities, etc. and it can be quite useful as a filler in addition to an adhesive. If all you need to do is glue one piece of something to another, just spread it like butter on one surface, press the two pieces together, wiggle them around enough to spread the adhesive and wait for the set (I suppose a clamp would add strength to the join, but I've found that is seldom necessary, particularly if you hold or tape the two pieces together until the adhesive sets). I rarely use contact cement anymore, far too many irreversible problems. If any KwikWeld oozes out of the bond, just scrape it off while it is still gooey. You can sand later if needed. You can even sculpt a bit with it once it becomes familiar. If you get a little on your fingers it will wipe off with a shop cloth or paper towel, or you can use a TSP substitute or something similar later if it has set on you (no worries about your fingers sticking together like Super Glue, which I have found nearly useless, anyway). J-B makes similar products, such as a WoodWeld, which I have also found useful (but this stuff also works on wood). Highest marks here!

Packaging could be better, but good product.
I bought this to weld a metal spring back together, and it definitely does work, and after being in storage for a little bit, the product leaked all over the place. Luckily it was in a bag, but it does not smell great. I kind of hate buying so much just for one little product, and then the package not be enough to handle it. But what was welded has held up quite well. It was very durable and hard and stayed on very well.

Works on pot metal!
I bought this to fix one of many coat hooks that were damaged when the wind blew our back door open. I have since moved the hooks out of the way and took measures to keep the door from flying all the way open again. I noticed that the broken hooks were made out of pot metal and was very skeptical that this product would work on pot metal, but it definitely did. It was very easy to use and inexpensive. The repaired hooks are now just as strong as the others that weren't damaged. The color and texture even matches the pot metal perfectly. Super happy.

Miracle epoxy
This was as described, packaged well, and arrived in a timely manner. I had a beautiful and pricey aluminum coffee table on my deck that was damaged in a severe thunderstorm. The wind thrust it against the railing of my deck, and a leg was completely cracked at the top but still attached by a screw to the main part of the table. It was unusable for years, but this year I tried to find something that could bond the table to its leg. I am so glad that I found this product, and the many reviews and videos were almost too good to be true. I purchased 2 packages, but I ended up using just one. The instructions were very good, and the many videos showing applications were very helpful. I used the product as directed, but it was a bit tricky as I didn't have much room for an easier application. Once the first application was applied and cured, I waited several days and reapplied more to ensure that I didn't miss any areas while I used a toothpick to spread the epoxy around in areas of contact. I let that cure, and I am thrilled with the result. This table was saved, and I can now call this a miracle epoxy for sure. The epoxy dries to a dark gray almost black color so I may touch it up that area with some lighter paint color to match the rest of the table. I am so pleased with this product.
