These paddle brushes are well made. I use them for acrylic art painting. No hair loss and they keep a great edge even after rinsing.

Use this information for your benefit. When I took mine out of the box, before I could notice the bright Cadmium Red Medium handle, I saw "a small number" of bristles which had fallen out of the Ferrell. Before I made a conclusion, I cleaned up the bristles to see if more would fall out. 1,2,3,4. Four more fell out. All done falling out? YES. On to the test phase. Am I going to have to return it? Spank, spank, spank, hard stroke, hard stroke... no more loose bristles. And, these bristles are FIRM! I don’t mean like, "paint brush" you but at Lowes. I mean F.I.R.M. Like twice as firm as that! So, I said, "IF I’m sending it back, I’ll send it back in pieces!" So, I "tested" it. No sign of distress. No more bristles falling out. Really getting to like the handling. The bristle weight is more than the handle. I didn’t want thick and they are not! Exactly as thick as the handle but, more weight. AND, the tips are softer than the staff of the bristle. This is a high quality tool! Honestly, it's under $20 so, if I get 20 canvases in gesso and 20 washes in oil and then, I lose a bristle, value of price paid. I’m going to wash it before I use it JUST to be sure but, I'm very happy in the first 30 minutes with it.

Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase. The product feels well-made and performs just as expected. You can tell the materials are of decent quality, and it seems like it will hold up well over time. It arrived on time and was packaged securely. While it’s not absolutely perfect — there are a couple of small things that could be improved — it’s still a great value for the price. I’d definitely recommend it to others and would consider buying it again. I found the item to shed a lot and messes up details in what you’re painting.

Soft, perfect for varnishing my oil paintings. Didn’t lose any bristles and have varnished several pieces. Just take care of your brush afterwards and you won’t run into problems

Lovely soft synthetic brush. Used for background acrylic wash. Also will use as dry brush for softening oil strokes. Fell in love with brand name and gave ordered the complete 48 brush combo packs of 12 ea in 4 styles. Absolutely pleased with quality and functional use.
