Definitely for a long haired cat or dog. Mine is a short hair cat and I can brush her about 20 times before having to empty the brush.

Love this dog/cat brush! I have an older big dog that sheds a lot and this was getting the deep hairs that other brushes would not. My daughter is swapping to this brush. Love how you do not have to touch the hair to get it off the brush. Easy to clean and our pets comes when we pick the brush up. It’s a must try
