Wonderful pairing knife, works on all sorts of kitchen ingredients!
I love this brand of knives! I have 6 different types, as well as the pie/cake cutters, can opener, and peeler! I seriously love how well-made Kuhn Rikon products are (and I love that they all come in red!).I originally bought my first knife based on reviews of how well they cut EVERYTHING! And it's true, they work really well. I have some very expensive knives in my collection, and these work just as well. And they are red (I love having red in my kitchen!). I've used this knife on nearly everything I have to cut in the kitchen that is size-appropriate, and have been happy with the results. My first knife I've had for nearly 6 years, and it is still working amazingly well. I would probably say it's starting to dull a little bit, but I use that knife a lot, so that's not really a surprise. For example, I used to be able to gently set the blade on a tomato, and it would start slicing through like a hot knife on butter--now, I have to apply a little pressure for it to start cutting through the tomato. So really, they still work really well after all this time. I'm slowly starting to replace my other knives with these... the only thing slowing my full replacement is that not all the knives I want are in red yet (no matter, I'll just wait :) ).If you are looking for a sharp, stylish knife that won't break the bank, please look into this knife, and others that are in the Kuhn Rikon inventory. I haven't been disappointed by one yet.

A bargain for a wizard of a knife
New knives attract me like dogs to a bone and I was in the market for a new paring knife. The fact that this knife had a sheath with it was a major drawing factor as I usually just throw all my knives in a drawer which isn't good for them, and then to find out that it was nonstick was the final slam of the door as far as I was concerned. I was sold. The pretty purple color didn't hurt matters either although it clashes terribly with my kitchen decor but is oh so easy to find.I've had and used this knife for almost two years and it is as sharp and nonstick as it was the day I purchased it. It cuts through just about anything I plunge it's little blade into.....cheeses, raw potatoes, veggies....everything is cut perfectly and without having to wipe my blade off. The size is perfect for me. I like a smaller knife to wield around when I'm in one of my cooking frenzies. Nothing makes me happier than to chop chop chop all the wonderful goodies in preparation for cooking.I always keep this knife clean, sometimes just rinsing off and drying, but other times washing VERY carefully by hand in hot soapy water. Did I mention that this blade is super sharp? It can slice off any finger that isn't paying attention and gets in the way. The cost of this knife is a real bargain due to the quality and durability. You can't go wrong in getting one for yourself.

Great Paring Knife
I got one of these for my girlfriend as a housewarming gift.I have one of their bread knives and liked the colors they come in. She needed a paring knife, and purple is her fav color, so this was a perfect match. The blade is super sharp out of the package. The case fits a bit snug, and is a bit confusing which way the blade goes in. It fits either way. These are a great starter knife, or would be great to take camping or use on a picnic since the cover fits so well. Very secure to throw in a box, basket, or bag.The blade also sharpens really easily, and seems to hold an edge. The biggest downside to me is the handle. Cheap and small feeling. I have big hands, and it is not ideal for me. Also it could become slippery. It may not be professional quality, but it is better than many more expensive knives I have used.
