Songs of Leonard Cohen Collectors Edtn (Collectors Edition)

This book contains all songs from LC's first two (and arguably best) albums - apart from 'The Partisan' which does not stem from the master's pen. There are a number of Cohen songbooks around but this seems to be the only one which does not just show the lyrics & chords but also guitar tabs in order to enable you to learn his wonderful picking style in songs like "Suzanne" or "Hey, that's no way to say goodbye".Bought this book when I was a beginner with two years of experience in playing the guitar. I found many songs quite challenging to play at first - but never daunting. If you love LC's early work you will surely learn a great deal by tackling these marvellous pieces one by one! Highly recommended.

It replaced a torn and yellowing original and means his music can once more be played. My husbands birthday happieness was a given with this treasure.

I am working my was through this and find it very clear and helpful, has lyrics in full, music notation, and precise tab.

I was happy with this album of songs by Leonard Cohen, which arrived in good condition, but I was expecting his composition of Hallelujah to be included in this book and it was not. Therefore I was a bit disappointed.

I have a first edition of this book (1969) from where I learned to finger pick the guitar style of Leonard in a tab format which was almost unheard of at the time. It's been a constant source of Leonard's early music for me ever since. Unfortunately the book binding has long ago failed and all I have is a pile of loose pages so I have finally replaced it. If you want to play Leonard guitar style then there is no better book. Equally, as an introduction to a guitar finger style that will serve you well whether or not you like Cohen, you'll struggle to find anything better. Oh, and the songs are great - timeless and beautiful.

I lost this book and looked for it a time ago only to not find it. So, I checked it again and wow, here it is. The tabs are just great although I don’t use them as they are. Still, probably closer to what Cohen intended to play originally if not exactly. Great book. Wish it had Hallelujah. But, I’m really happy with these songs!

Nice additional photos, great tabs, I believe a few words are wrong in the book, but nothing terrible.
