These units feature a small, contained footprint with a reasonable output capacity. Output regulation seems right on (3.3V units). Wall warts are maybe a bit cheaper, but if you are building a package these are a great option.

If you're planning to use these on a solderable or standard breadboard, be aware that the module ac pins have a 5mm separation and will not straddle the center 0.3" dip section. Oddly, some dimensions are close to 0.1" spacing, whereas some are not. By bending the pins severely, it can be jammed in to mount horizontally.

This thing powers an ESP-01 like a champ. Really stable; no weirdness on power-up; doesn't get too warm. Also: its four little pins accept female Dupont connectors nicely, if you're looking to hook it up with jumper wires.

I took three testing.... 200mA=4.99VDC, 400mA=4.95V, 500mA=4.90V and 600mA=4.88V. Best for less than 400mA but not 600mA!!!!!!
