can this be used as a vanity table?

I don’t see why not....I use it for my sewing machine and I can say it’s definitely sturdy!! Hope that helps!

In one place in the ad it talks about hiring expert assembler and in another section it says no assembly needed. Does anyone know which it is?

My folding desk did NOT come fully assembled. Four of the six screws were "lost" inside the metal crosspieces of the frame, and we found the other two stuck in the corners of the cardboard box the desk came in. They had just been thrown into the box loose.

Is this table sturdy enough to use for a sewing machine?

I am using a laptop,keyboard, and mouse pad - with a monitor (on a arm - hooked to another desk) - Would say the black little pads at the bottom provide good enough stability - I have this desk on carpet. Would assume if your sewing machine is quite heavy- that it probably would ..not to sure- as the space is small at the top ..so just my thought Crossing your legs is a little hard on this desk- if not impossible underneath -
