This remote speaker works incredibly well. I was afraid it would be hard to setup, but I read all of the instructions and followed them step by step and it turned on and worked perfectly. It’s easy to operate and absolutely allows the user to mute the tv and listen to the remote speaker at a much lower sound level as you can place it very close to them. It has really good sound quality and takes up very little space. I use the speaker with the included plug in and have removed the battery per the instructions, so I can’t comment on battery strength. This system Solved our problem and I highly recommend it.

We love this speaker! The sound is very clear and the headphones are nice when my husband doesn't want to hear the sound. We had some problems making it work. The trick is the order that you connect everything. Do the settings on the TV before you hook it up. Then turn on the transmitter of the speaker. We almost thought that it was defective until we figured out that there was an order that you had to follow. Also, it goes into sleep mode if there is no sound (like if you put the movie on pause). In that case, turn the transmitter off, and then on again. It will reconnect. The sound is very clear and you can adjust the bass and treble. Worth every penny.

Bought this for my husband 4 months ago. We love it and are purchasing a 2nd unit for the downstairs family room. There are a few things to know that might be helpful. It works a little differently from TV to TV. Example being.. mine is in our livingroom and my in-laws purchased one after hearing ours. When hooking it up on our tv, I had a few adjustments in the sound/audio settings on the tv for the speaker to produce sound. I have a new Sony Bravia (smart tv). It took my an hour or so to figure out what needed to be changed for it to work. Which I am not very tech savvy so that timeframe could have been due to me. BUT...once I got it, sooo worth it. We just love it. I can take it outside on our screened patio and still hear clearly and as loudly as I want (I like to play my music through it sometimes). I can get approx 35 feet away from the receiver before it starts to cut out.So when I hooked it up my in-laws speaker, there were no sound adjustments that needed to be made in the settings of the tv itself. I simply plugged and played. Super easy and done within 3 mins. Their tv is a 5ish year old roku.You do not have to get up off the couch or outta bed at night to put it on its charger if you don't want. Simply drop it on there in the morning when you wake up. Ours seems to last approx 8ish hrs before needing a charge.I do find it slightly pricey for a tv speaker. You can get a decent sounding sound bar speaker in this price range. BUT this is not a "surround sound/sound bar" sound. It does not and is not designed to work that way either, so don't expect that. We have a good sound bar and still needed this for the voice hearing. We had to turn the sound bar up so high to hear low voice talking that the whole house could hear our tv. lol. This focuses on the voice. So if you are having to turn your tv up loud to hear them talking, like we do, or if you are hearing impaired, this unit will be just what you need.**update 7/28/23** The battery in one of our two units went bad and quit charging. I emailed Simolio customer service and explained my problem. They replied the very next morning. After doing some troubleshooting to confirm it was only a battery problem and not something else, they got me a new battery in the mail. They have a 12 month warranty. I didn't have to do anything but give my Amazon order # and mailing address. They handled everything else. Great customer service.

My hearing-impaired, memory-impaired, mother recently moved into an assisted-living facility. My mother plays her TV constantly and her TV volume was disturbing the resident in the next apartment. I bought the speaker for her bedside and it is absolutely perfect. The volume she now listens to from the speaker is now reasonable, as before it literally hurt my hearing to be in the same room.I was able to hook the speaker to her LG TV in minutes and did not have to adjust the sound frequency. Because she forgets about the TV volume being a noise problem, I have the TV set to direct the sound solely to the speaker beside her, therefore this means she sometimes becomes confused why the TV volume remote button no longer works. However, the 'old style' knob volume control on this speaker seems part of her long-term memory and she has no problem using it. Having the ability to keep the speaker plugged in beside her bed was a deal-breaker, as my mom would never be able to remember to re-charge. I kick myself for not having this device earlier as she blasted her TV throughout my house when she lived with me. I would recommend this speaker to anyone - I may even get one for myself as a means to keep my late night TV watching from disturbing my household.I gave this a 4 instead of a 5 solely to get the manufacturer's attention. It's great that the speaker is portable and that a power cord is provided. The small barrel-jack plug on the power cord, however, is difficult to unplug and plug back in. A charging cradle, like the transmitter hub that remains attached to the TV, would be ideal. I would have even purchased an extra charging cradle if available so that the speaker could have been cradled beside my mother's bed and cradled beside her favorite chair. Charging cradles would allow my mother, with her current physical and mental capabilities, to utilize the portable features of the speaker. If charging cradles would have been available, for my mom's use I would have given this speaker ten stars. 😊
