DETAILS Two sets of quickfit alarm door contacts, enough for two doors. The main body of the contacts have a diameter of 20mm, the flange is rectangular and measures 36mm x 22mm. These contacts have an operating gap of around 14mm. The total depth of each half of the contacts is 15mm including the flange thickness. As you can see in the pictures the contacts come with fixing screws to secure them. The part of the contact that has five terminals on the back, holds the magnetic reed switch. The other part of the contact holds a magnet, either an alnico V or ferrite type. The silver terminals are for the alarm circuit and the brass terminals are for connecting tamper circuits etc. SPECIFICATIONS Grade 1, Environmental Class 2 contacts with an operating gap of around 14mm, Colour White, fixing screws included. These are normally closed contacts (when door is closed circuit is closed) and therefore work with all the leading brands of burglar alarm panels: ADE, Honeywell, Accenta, Optima, Texecom, Ademco, Scantronic, Gardtec, Risco etc. If you have any questions let us know.

They are bigger than they look!
OK I bought a new PVC door and wanted to make the alarm wiring as discreet as possible. In the past I used Maplin who had a small magnet and reed switch but they are stoping so sourced this to fit inside the frame of the door.I was taken aback at the size of these needs a 18mm hole which meant I needed to buy a drill bit (£6 extra). After fully surveying the door it was only possible to put the magnet on the top of the door frame (metal bar runs down length of door). Once I drilled the holes to align the magnet and reed ask that was necessary was to drill hole on frame to connect to existing wiring. You will most likely need additional cable to connect to existing wiring. So lesson learned is to get door fitters to prefit magnet and reed prior to installation which will allow you to totally hide the cable inside frame. Still they are in now and functioning well so given 4 stars for that reason. Not sure why there are 5 terminals only 2(silver headed screws) are active.
