Always have available
I'm a big Goya fan, located in Texas, same wavelength. It is hard to find these at the stores so I pay a little more online

mostly all dented cans, but the are so far filled to brim w/beans (not liquid), slightly firm
Boy, I'm not the only one buying canned beans and such as emergency food, hm? Most recent reviews reflect this. Good thinking, best to have something on hand and not need it then need it and have nothing. Be safe my friends. Beans are great addition to a prepper pantry, and so long as cans aren't damaged will last indefinitely. (BTW, I acquired these March 2022, with "exp" of 09/2026)That being said, I love Goya, and I love black beans but 19 out of 24 cans are banged up. Some significant, some just a little dent. Only 5 are perfect. One can had mouse poop on top. It was otherwise packaged well enough-- all in a large tray with plastic wrap around it. Then tucked into a shipping box with the protective wads of brown paper. Not sure where/when in the process the banged up cans came about. I wiped them all down with disinfectant wipes before storing in pantry.I will heavily rate on the actual quality of the beans, but keep what I said about dented cans in mind. I haven't done anything about it (yet, but I doubt anything can be done. Some stuff is just buy at your own risk). I placed the worst of the dented cans at the forefront of my pantry for use first. I opened up the worst one to see how it fared. The contents actually appeared totally fine. What I like about these beans from this brand, is that the cans are filled to brim with beans. Maybe that changes from can to can, size to size, style to style, but my experience so far is that I am paying for beans and not liquid. Drives me nuts to buy an off brand, a cheap brand only to open the can and have an 1/8 to a 1/4 of it be liquid. I took pics of an open can, and how it looks in a 2 cup pyrex container. It is FULL, and it fills the 2 cup container.Beans are perfectly small, firm, not mushy. This may throw folks off that are used to bargain canned beans. Also with these being organic they hold their shape better than others, too. Then, in additon to that these are low sodium. Sodium packed beans tend to be mushier--even when rinsed off, the sodium has already had time to permeate and break down the insides. Fine for taste and texture if you prefer a softer texture.I got these on sale, ($21, I think) and that helped a lot as I think they came to around $0.85 a can. Good for any brand, organic or not. I just wish the cans were't all banged up, Otherwise 5 stars.4 stars for actual beans.
