There's some descrepancy between what the product is in the description and the product pictures. What you get is in the product pictures. The description saids the base should be anodized aluminum, and it shows an aluminum base with the edges folded down to fillet them, but the actual base you get looks like what's in the product pics--I'm not sure it's even aluminum, perhaps a thick acrylic? Regardless, it's flat and works fine.I was debating getting this vs what was the best selling version on Amazon at this time and I'm glad I chose this. IIRC, the advantages of this version are:1. the cable holder at the top of the pole2. the insert tips holder

I purchased this to assist in assembly of a product that I’m selling. I’m so glad I did. It makes assembly much more efficient and easy. Definitely a good purchase.

This is so compact! It is easy to use and works well. It is easy to hold and maneuver. It makes detail work easier.

Need an extra pair of hands
I think it's a good idea. Honestly though, if you have a part that will not lay flat on its own, you need to be an octopus to operate the machine.1. Gravity means you need to hold the insert with tweezers in the heat element.2. While that is warming up, you need to hold the part that won't stay in position without aid.3. With your third hand you then push the heat arm down and into the plastic while letting go of the tweezers as the insert begins to melt into the plastic.I'm gonna keep it and add a pneumatic cylinder with a foot pedal in order to make this do what I need it to do.

Didn't realize how much I needed this till I used it
This press is used for heating brass inserts for a 3D printed part so you can use screws to assemble parts, like making your own enclosures for hard disks or Raspberry Pi, or whatever your mind can think of.I was having issues with hand pressing parts straight, and then I got this. It's perfect for pressing inserts at the right angle and has a nice sticky pad to keep your part still while doing it. It helps to bring your inserts straight down and stay straight, giving you that "extra hand" you never thought you needed, and the stability.It's extremely easy to assemble, and only takes a few minutes. The instructions are clear, and the videos located here on this page even helps you with a visual. The only complaint I have is the nuts used to hold the insert tips are super small and hard for us with larger fingers to fit on the tiny allen wrench. It would have been nice that they were pre-screwed into the inserts.

Works as expected.
Not much to say, it does what it says it can do. Seems like decent quality. Reccomend for any 3d printer owner.

Does what it is supposed to.
It fits the basic need of heating up an insert and allowing you to push it straight down into the part. Price is good and due to it it is a 4 star review. It could be better executed for ease of use and repeatability.

The tool I didn't know I needed
Great product, bought on a whim when i started to build my voron 2.4 , so glad I did, have used on multiple other prints now. to anyone still pressing with a sodering iron please take my advise and buy this!! you wont regret
