Works efficiently
I have a basement systems dehumidifier installed by dryzone when they encapsulated my crawl space in my newly purchased near the beach house several years ago. I noticed my electric bill going up a lot for quite a few months this summer. I have a remote temp and humidity Wi-Fi sensor in the crawl space reporting the humidity to be in the upper 70% range. I also have a Kasa plug that reported the dehumidifier running 24 hours a day, at nearly 700 watts draw. So I researched dehumidifiers for crawl spaces, and this April AIr is rated the same 100 pints as the old one with many positive 5 star reviews. I got the kit that include legs and a drain hose. Its weight and size made it a two person job to get it through the barely big enough crawl space door and 30 or so feet over to its home. Since there was already a dedicated electric plug and a drain into the sump pump pit, final installation was easy with some minor adjusting to get it level. Got the control panel set how I wanted it. Within a day the humidity was down to 50 to 55%. It would run 30 minutes and off 60 minutes most days. Very humid days it ran a bit more. I expect this coming winter to see it running much less. The Kasa plug makes keeping track of the electric use real easy, and the WiFI humidity reader confirms it is working effectively. This dehumidifier will pay for itself in reduced power charges in 18 months, and the crawl space will stop deteriorating from the excessive humidity. The old dehumidifier needed expensive filters, the April Air has a washable filter, another big cost savings. It's also quieter too, it's hard to hear through the floor to tell if it's running. As long as it gives me a long life, I will remain happy. In my inland house I have an Oasis dehumidifier in the basement that is 50+ years old, and is still running perfectly, other than the humidistat failed. I bought a stand alone humidistat, wire jumped the bad one, and plugged the Oasis into the stand alone stat, it has a digital readout and the ability to set it to turn at 53% and off at 50%. If the April Air lasts half as long as the Oasis, I'll be real happy.

10% decrease in humidity in a large home
Somehow, in Utah, I have a humidity issue in my house. I was glad to find this updated replacement for my previous 1850 model. It ties right into my HVAC system, and being able to buy it online saved me a lot of money. It was under $300 to get it installed. It came with all the necessary parts and has been working like a dream.

Great dehumidifier
This dehumidifier is located in my outbuilding (36 x 48 x 14 Morton) and is doing a great job. I've had it for about 6 months and it has performed flawlessly. I set it at 50% humidity and during the summer months it pulled the humidity down from about 70% in the 1728 square foot space it is in. It is well made and I expect it to last a long time.

Works without letting you know it does!
Fantastic…at least for my application! Arrived all in one box…be prepared, you probably will need a work truck to move it due to size; but then I am 80 years old. I think shockingly easy to install and plug in…and it works really whisper quiet. I was shocked how quickly it brought the humidity down in every nook and cranny from its’ install point towards the rear of the overall space way up to the entrance door and area(stairways up). This includes pulling humidity from the various rooms(open doors) within the overall space of at least 1000 sq ft. Should be noted that my entrance area is an area with exterior wall of glass and framing to the half level up, turn back. Because I live in a very wooded wet area due to storms and massive tree canopy, the front door hallway is separate from the rest of the enclosed rooms in that 1000 sq ft lowest level floor area. The garage plus area is separate from this 1000 sq ft area by closed door. Again, due to the wetness of my general elevated terrain, I plan to install another unit for that closed off 1000 sq ft. Probably the 80 pint whole house dehumidifier. Far less rooms/dividers…no glass exterior walls/glass doors. There are two solid garage doors and one solid entrance/exit door…no windows of any kind in that overall space. This is a second furnace area within so running plastic drain pipe not an issue here or the other furnace room in the other 1000 sq ft space. The Unit seems extremely well built and solid…I drain through plastic pipe on the 100 pint unit some 20 feet roughly through walls into the furnace room. I do not have the unit using existing air flow lines etc; just free flowing about 60% from the front entrance hall area back to what was a wine storage area at the end of this wing. I just need to read the manual for operations etc etc…I manually turn it on and off presently due to the Holidays as I am monitoring/moving four humidity monitors located in various locations within the main 1000 sq ft areas. Santa is too busy!

Dehumidifier that can be install by home owner
Was well packaged and arrived in good condition. On items were complete. All set up and operational instructions were easy to follow. After 3 or 4 days with the Aprilaire Dehumidifier in operation I could feel the change in the air in my crawlspace.

Very Pleased!
We purchased this unit to replace an older dehumidifier we had in our basement. It was easy to set up, takes up less space than our previous unit, and is much quieter. It has been keeping our basement dry during the humid summer we have been having. Overall I'm very pleased with our purchase.
