Ive been skeptical buying a battery powered sprayer for the longevity/durability/performance aspect however, seems like you get more than 3-5 years out of any sprayer regardless of price anyways...so I decided to roll the dice and give it a try....MAN do I wish I would have sooner, works great!...not the highest overall quality/hose/handle but adequate and no leaks. Oversll a great value! Reasons to go electric: -constant full pressure (equal to any manual pump sprayer) wsonuou can better maintain your focus/accuracy on what you're doing. -more streamline, no handle to get snagged walking through shrubs etc. -no riping your arm up pumping in thicket/thorns -less pump starvation when tanks getting empty since you're not sloshing the tank around -faster all around and makes tasks way less of a chore -less back/shoulder/arm fatigue trying to hold/angle the backpack in an ergonomic spot for pumping, especially crouched or leaning down. -one hand free at all times to move branches etc. Major things I was skeptical about was durability and performance. After using id never buy a manual one again. Good quality for a home gamer, but pump body and hose are cheaper, and you might want something more substaintial before id suggest throwing it in a trailer/truck bed. But For the money, can't be beat!

So I was looking for an electric chemical sprayer to spray bug killer and/or weed killer at a distance of at least 15' and I also needed a good amount of volume of the liquid. All the companies say on their boxes how long their batteries last, how many gallons their tanks hold. BUT None of the companies tell you what the maximum amount of volume it will/can spray per minute with nozzle wide open. I think this unit can spray just under a half of a gallon per minute. If the nozzle was wide open. Which was perfect when I needed the volume. Well this Chapin unit does the job. Sprays a stream of liquid over 20 feet. Of course only when you set the nozzle for a stream spray. You can make the nozzle spray a mist and it will not go that far. The electric pump system stops automatically when you stop spraying. Some other smaller sprayers just keep running until you manually turn off the switch. I have tried smaller electric sprayer units from other companies. They are smaller and maybe easier to handle, but do not spray the volume that I wanted. The area that I just sprayed with my new Chapin only took me 60 minutes to complete when using my other smaller sprayer, it would take me almost two hour and have to refill too many times. Pros: Easy to fill with the large fill opening. Easy to see the volume left. Battery lasted for my 60 minutes. Spray wand was very comfortable and had a long enough hose to be able to reach while spraying. Spray wand hand a lock "ON" feature which was nice. Motor stops pumping when not spraying, Minor Cons: - cannot tell how much battery power is left, but the box says it is good for 1.75 hours. - Wish there was a handle strap at the top of the tank, so I could easily carry it with one hand while it is not on my back. - maybe a spare nozzle to provide a more narrow spray. No major Cons.

I also have the manual pump version of this sprayer and based on the description it sounded like the battery would last for about 4 tanks of spray. Turns out that fully charged it will only last a tank and half, which is very inconvenient as I normally use about 3 tank fulls when spraying my property. It then takes to long to recharge to do the rest of my property in one session. Would not buy the battery powered version of this sprayer again.

Very happy with this product, battery lasts more than long enough to cover 8,500 sqft.

When I unboxed the sprayer, I found kinks in hose but that did not affect sprayer performance at all. It was easy to assemble, with hooked button backpack straps. I connected the sprayer wand, and installed the cap. Even though there was a little charge in the battery, I still charged it overnight. I sprayed about 1100 sq ft of grass area and weeds all around my property. I used about a tank and a half (about 6 gals in total). No problem spraying that much on the single charge at all. The sprayer is easy to operate and the strap across your middle section helps with weight of 4 gallons on your back. The spray trigger lock made spraying very easy. I used to use a smaller hand pumping sprayer, but no more. This 4-gallon sprayer worked perfectly, easy to use, and easy to carry.
