Works great in the Arizona desert.
I'm very pleased with this purchase. I live in the Arizona desert and have run this every day for about 2 weeks. So far this has done a rather nice job of keeping me cool outside on my patio at its lowest setting and without use of the ice packs. I do anticipate that as summer gets underway and temps hit 115 degrees, I'll be using a higher fan setting. Setup was easy, the ice packs are a really nice add on, and I love having a remote for this unit. The best part is that I can fill from the top or via an adapter, and the top has plenty of room to add ice cubes in addition to one of the 2 included ice packs. (Haven't tried that yet but sure to do so by July!) I had also bought a larger and more expensive name brand unit and this one seems to be far nicer.Given that we have very hard water, I purchased some demineralization strips to use. They are easy to add since water pumps through the top of the unit. My only concern is that because we have such hard water, we may need to replace the filters every year and I cannot figure out how we will order new filters. I do have an email out to the manufacturer with that question. My only complaint is that I paid about $40 more for this unit about 2 weeks ago than the deal that is currently running on it today. Wish I'd gotten the better price! Nonetheless, I'm keeping this jewel of a cooler.

Works great for almost a month
The cooler was great, it had a powerful fan, and cool cells made it cool the air. Only problem is the pump stopped working, so the pads didn't wet, making it just a fan. For home use the controls are ok. I didn't like it, because I couldnt use an environment controller. It came with ice packs, but they leaked and I never used them. I went to my home Depot and bought their's for a little cheaper, and they have switches, so I can use a controller in my greenhouse. And if wondering, the greenhouse is 12x18, and it cools. Lately with our heatwave it just keeps up. Ultimately, I returned this one, which was a pain! UPS WOULD NOT accept the manufacturers packaging, And Amazon was absolutely no help!

Well built and easy to use.
We purchased this unit in the middle of the hot summer here in Central California to fill in when the temps are below 100, and it has worked great. Water is easy to fill from the top (compared to a unit I used in the garage that has a little spout on the front.) It's quiet for in-the-house use and easy to roll around to fill. Our laundry room is just off the living room, so it's easy for us to have it in the doorway, drawing outside air into the cooler and making it easy to refill using the laundry room sink. As others have said, this works well in low-humidity situations. When the temps are above 100 or the humidity is high, it doesn't work and we turn on the AC unit. We are glad to have it and would buy it again.

Works well. It's NOT an air conditioner. Freeze Packs are cheap that come with it.
The product is really quite. I purchased one to try out in my shop for my employees to see how they liked it. The unit definitely cools the air. In the humid southern climate (South of Atlanta) it did cool the air and was better than a fan blowing hot air, the cooler air did make a difference. Employee put an ice pack in the top of the unit and changed it out at lunch. Now speaking of the ice packs. They are worthless as far as quality goes. People in other reviews complained about it and I didn't think to much about it. However, after purchasing a total of 3 of these units within 3 days of each other every single ice pack for all three units has busted in the freezer after the 3rd or 4th time being froze. I am going to call the MFG and see what they say about it. I have other ice packs that I can use and will keep all 3 units.. But the reviews about the ice packs (they come with 2 each). (I got a total of 6 ice packs, and all but one has bust). all of them busted at different locations.

Cumbersome to fill. Needs a removable tank!
I wanted so much for this to work, and it sort of does. When filled with cold water and used with an ice pack, it does output a lovely cool breeze. But the tank is such a hassle to fill. You can only do so by pouring water bit by bit into the top tray. Emptying it is similarly cumbersome. After removing the plug, you have to tilt the whole thing for the water to fully drain. The effort it takes to operate this thing is unsustainable and I am sending it back. I would have kept it if the tank had been removable, so that you can fill it quickly with water AND ice to keep the cool breeze going for longer.

Good size but need better ice packs.
Good size unit and great thing is it holds 12 gallon of water on the base of unit. It also has two level lines transparent slots to see the water level. It does not have low level automatic turn off but does beep when water is low. Not that loud so sometimes you might not hear it. Unit is pretty light which has wheels to move around. Jeep in mind the cord is not as long. Unit also has 3 speed mode which does make a very big difference. The only downside fall I found is the ice pack tends to bulge out when frozen. And it doesn’t last long in the cool mode. Once I place the ice pack in the top bin it thaw out spend 30mins or so. And ice pack is really small for the compartment size. Overall does cool a decent amount in my back room around 700sqft. Overall decent machine and not to loud either.

Works great in Arizona Desert
Works pretty good in my Sun city Arizona garage, not great when it's 110, but still make garage bareable, wish it had a lower speed than number one, fill it up every morning, goes through probably 6-8 gallons just normal use, off & on sitting in garage, some days it will take 12 gallons

Evaporative AC return
This evaporative air conditioner did not work to our satisfaction. It was in a bedroom and caused extreme humidity even on the clothes in the closet. It started to get mold on the inside of a drawer. I even bought a dehumidifier thinking that would help. My daughter is in subsidized housing and cannot have a window AC. I am asking please let us return this because it was an expense she cannot afford. It is in excellent condition.Thank you in advance if you could take the return under consideration.Cheryl Parson
