Instructions (at your own risk) included here.
Nice product, works as advertised, but no instructions worth a dear...The following information is provided on a "if you don't know what you're doing, get someone else to do it for you" basis.!! Do NOT work on hot/live wires !!This switch has four terminal connections. Black screw, brass screw, silverish screw and green screw.Connect the line wire to the black screw. That is the wire that comes from the breaker panel and provides power. Which you obviously turned off before wiring anything to not get grilled alive.Connect the wire going to your light/outlet/motor/blender to the brass screw. These two terminals handle the actual switching on/off part of your switch.Connect a neutral wire (typically white) to the silverish screw. This will let the light inside the switch turn on when you turn the switch on.Connect a ground wire to the green screw. If any of this sounds complicated to you or somehow doesn't make sense, don't mess with electrical!

Marital Bliss again...my wife now knows the pantry light is on!!
Bad habit of leaving the pantry light on was causing marital discord. This nifty switch has restored peace and happiness...Easy to install BUT requires a neutral wire so check first if there is one present in the location your installing this. My switch came with no instructions (bought it used from AMAZON returns) so to make your life a little easier...Silver screw - NeutralBrass screw - Load (wire to light or whatever...)Black screw - Hot wire (power source)Green screw - GroundNot the cheapest thing in the world but Leviton quality means it should last a long time...when it eventually fails will be my next of kin's problem...

Makes it obvious when the light is on.
Works well - light is bright enough to be noticeable during the day. Useful for switches that activate lights that are not immediately visible from the location of the switch, or are not visible during the day. I use it for an outdoor flood light that faces away from the door, making it difficult to see during the daylight hours. Previously, this light was left on frequently since it was not noticeable from the room where the switch is located. Now, it is obvious when the light is on, so we rarely leave it on unintentionally. The only ding on this switch is that the wiring is not obvious. No instructions are provided with the switch, and the leads are not marked. It requires a neutral, which not all switch boxes have, depending on how the circuit is wired. I had to modify the wiring to my box to allow for this need.

Lighted switch when on.
You will need two neutrals in your box to make this work correctly. Works as advertised.

Excellent build and instructions
Yes, cheaper switches do exist, but for my home, I want quality, not a house fire. Well-built and with good, clear instructions.

Switch is now functioning properly but installation required an inordinate amount of time because of poor instructions.
Installation instructions were not included with package. On line instructions were incorrect. After several attempts I called the manufacturers help line where I received correct instructions. Switch is now functioning properly but installation required an inordinate amount of time because of poor instructions.

Good product. Need to understand electrical wiring to install without an electrician.
Good product! Did exactly what I wanted. Can be used as an indicator pilot light either when switch is on or off. Let’s you know if the controlled device is either on or off depending on how it is wired in. Love it! But again I’m an electrician so I wired the box with a neutral. A lot of light switch wiring does not already contain a neutral wire which will require running a neutral to the box for this to work. Be sure to know what your wiring is!

It does not light up when on or at all.
Followed the instructions for single pole lighted handle and though the pump it is connected to runs fine. (it did as well on the original switch)I bought this one so I could see when the pump is on. It does not light when the pump is on. So I give it a ONE STAR because it does not work as advertised. I went to the manufacturers website and downloaded all the technical and schematic data showing internal wiring.Unsatisfied because no matter how I wired it, it never lit up. So for my needs it is useless and I wasted my time and money and I get paid $79 an hour as an electrician.

Does exactly what I needed
Our new gaburator is so quiet we were concerned someone could forget it on. This switch has a light in its handle that goes on only when the garburator is turned on. Of course it can be used for any other device within its capacity. Installation was easy. As other reviewers say, the instructions are not that clear. They cover 6 switch models. For this specific model, the 2nd diagram from the top is the one to use. One has to ignore the other five. To get the light to work as intended you must connect the neutral of your supply to the neutral terminal on the switch. For that you will have to make what is known as a pigtail, which is a new short piece of at least #14 solid copper wire (7 to 8 inches) from the neutral of your wiring to the neutral terminal on the switch. The neutral is always white wire. If you are not comfortable with with wiring I highly recommend getting help. The switch is robust and fits well into the box and the cover plate. The light is bright and impossible to miss even in a bright kitchen. It took me 15 minutes but I have done wiring tasks before.Overall, it is certainly a good product and worth the money.

Ok
Worked OK but was hard to get the switch to light up.I gave up as the wiring diagram was not ad helpful as I needed.Just using as a switch now.A better way yo get the lighted switch to work in the on position would be helpful.

I know the light is off.
Used on the exterior of a walk in freezer. Now we don't have to open the door to see if the light is on or off.

Didn’t work
First off it didn’t work as intended. I simply wanted a switch that would indicate the HVAC van was was on because it’s quite and gets forgotten about. When wiring this switch in and following directions (I’ve done a lot of electrical work and to code) it simple would not illuminate and turn the fan on at the same time. It worked when installed as a switch only and when installed as a light only but when hooked together neither worked.
