For light duty only.
The reason I say "for light duty only" is that I actually purchased these for heavy duty. Let me explain. If all you want to do is hold the cord still, without the threat of pressure or resistance being applied, then these are fine. They were supposed to be heavy duty, so I tried them, they were not. Heavy duty is if you want the cord to stay put AND tight while the potential of pressure or resistance may be applied at any given time. To simplify, imagine you use it on a fabric bag with your shoes in the bag. These may keep the bag closed, but not if someone tries to open the bag. The key difference is "secured". I actually wanted to use this in a somewhat clever concept to hold something in place. While the concept I created is sound and clever, it all hinges on these little guys not relenting, at least not so easily. Am I making sense here? Oh, they also didn't work on my sweatpants either. And no, I'm not that fat.
