Yes, all the DLC is on the disc. You may need Internet access to download and update a patch or patches however. The newly released Chris Redfield DLC is not included in the Gold Edition but is free on the PlayStation Store.

Do you have to have vr set to play this game?

No. You can play it normally like any other game on PS4 and PS5 but if you do have a VR you can play on it if you want but it is NOT needed it's just compatible with the VR

Can this be played without playing the previous games in the series?

Having played Resident Evil 1 upto resident evil 5, i say you can play this without having played the others in the series. This one, in my opinion, is disconnected from the rest. It's in my view, like a tech demo for the VR headset, it's still good and worth playing. I'd saying you could play Redident Evil 4 or 5 without having played 1-3. The series from 1-3 is the only ones i think should be played in order. I'm sure hardcore fans of the series would disagree, but that's just how i see it.
