3 x Scratch Shield Car Wash Bucket Filters (Black)

The BEST Investment for your Vehicle's Paintwork, EVER...
The use of a 'Scratch Shield' or 'Grit Guard' (they are both the same device), will really help in preventing potentially abrasive particles from being accidently rubbed into the paintwork of the vehicle you're cleaning (incidentally, incorrect washing is the largest cause of paint damage). I use a microfiber wash mitt (or thick microfiber cloth 720gsm), these are so much better than a traditional sponge as they allow any debris that does happen to find its way on to them, to be trapped inside the fibres. This minimises any scratching between the mitt/cloth and the surface because it draws debris inside, the particles are then 'released' into the bucket by rubbing the mitt/cloth against the grit guard (GG).The guards design keeps the debris at the bottom of the bucket, it is effectively 'trapped' by the fins so can't be passed back to the mitt/cloth as the wash solution moves around, just remember to use the '2-bucket-method' (one for the car shampoo & one for the 'rinse'), this keeps the really dirty 'rinse-water' bucket separate from 'cleaner' wash/shampoo bucket solution (search You tube if you need further details). It's best to use a GG in both buckets as this provides maximum scratch protection (if you can't afford it, one in the 'wash-bucket' will do).I have seen many comments from other reviews mentioning a 'less-than-perfect-fit', I used cable-ties between the GG frame & fins (2 on each fin) pulled very tight, let them 'settle' for around 30mins, before the 'final-tightening', then cut the excess strap away. The cable-ties will prevent any movement of the GG in the bucket, although you must use a fairly straight-sided bucket (measuring 26cm diameter at the base) one from Meguiars works really well (Euro Car Parts for the best price). The Fins will 'flex' and bend a little over time, so you might have to occasionally remove the guard & bend them straight again (this increases the tension between the GG Fins & the bucket) thus re-securing the guard. All things considered, this is a great product & well worth the extra expense if you value your vehicle's paintwork.P.S I purchased the 'single' version of the Scratch Shield, it's exactly the same as the 'triple' version.
