IN SPITE OF THE MUDDLED REVIEWS AND MARKETING SITUATION I EVENTUALLY MANAGED TO GET THE VERSION OF THIS CONCERT THAT I WANTED, THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE FULL CONCERT D.V.D. WITH 32 TRACKS, NOT THE C.D. SET WITH A 15 TRACK BONUS D.V.D.DON'T BE MISLEAD BY THE TITLE ABOUT VENICE, THIS IS A FIRST CLASS MAASTRICHT CONCERT. THE VENICE BIT IS ONLY A THEME AND IS MAINLY BACKGROUND SCENERY FOR THE SHOW. ALTHOUGH IT SAYS THE LANGUAGE IS ENGLISH, IT IS ONLY PARTLY SO, YOU STILL NEED TO SET THE ENGLISH SUB-TITLES BEFORE YOU START TO ENJOY TWO HOURS AND FORTY MINUTES OF EXCELLENT ENTERTAINMENT.THE PLATIN TENORS WERE JOINED BY MIRUSIA LOUWERSE, (WHO HAD FLOWN IN FROM AUSTRALIA), AND CARLA MAFFIOLETTI SANG HER LAST SONG BEFORE MOVING ON TO OTHER THINGS.AMONG THE SEVERAL SOLOISTS WAS A SINGER NAMED, LAURA ENGEL, WHO, I THINK, HAS A BEAUTIFUL VOICE.AMIRA, A LITTLE NINE YEAR OLD GIRL, WHO WON THE "HOLLAND'S GOT TALENT" COMPETITION, SANG THE OPERATIC SONG "O MIO BABBINO CARO" AND WON THE HEARTS OF THE AUDIENCE AND RECEIVED A STANDING OVATION.YET ANOTHER FEMALE SINGER, ANNA REKER, ACCOMPANIED THE TRIO ST. PETERSBURG WITH TWO SONGS, ONE OF WHICH WAS THE POPULAR "THOSE WERE THE DAYS".OTHER GUEST ARTISTS WERE, THE GONDOLIERS OF VENICE, AND THE ITALIAN SINGER, ROCCO GRANATA, SINGING HIS HIT SONG "MARINA".THE AUDIENCE REALLY ENJOYED THIS CONCERT AND SO WOULD YOU IF YOU ACQUIRED IT. The state of the concert of the established custom which was done in 2014 in Maastricht in Holland which is the birthplace of Andre Rieu is a recorded DVD.The program which it should pay attention to above all will be " O Mio Babbino Caro " of genius girl Amira Willighagen in Holland.The 9 year-old girl who appeared at the Dutch version of United Kingdom's " Got Talent ", in Holland's got talent of it is Amira Willighagen.All audience at the meeting place made clapping her vocal, standing up.It was called 2nd Susan Boyle, too.It is surprising because it only listened, seeing an image in YouTube and it learned.At present, she still is 13 years old. It grows or is she pleasant how?However, I think that it is how to sing in an original style even now and that the vocally professional leader had better learn a taught correct pronunciation, elocution.In the program of the others, the song of the habitue of Mirusia Louwerse and so on and the performance of the program from Italy delight sufficiently at much.It delights sufficiently in the performance with 32 pieces of music, the image and the sound in 161 minutes.However, don't judge only in the sound, but there are many program which streaming sound could suppress low in the timbre soon and it is a little regrettable.

After being diddled by the sampler DVD promoted as the real Venice concert I felt out of sorts with Andre but my wife persuaded me to buy the full DVD and I'm glad I did. It's actually the tenth of his annual Maastricht concerts and in my view is his best althoughdespite its title it has very little to do with Venice or Italy. The Maastricht audience love him but then he can do no wrong for them. Indeed these concerts are a tried and tested formula: for the last ten years he's played almost the same songs, linked with the same chat! It's a masterpiece of slick organisation. Something's are new: Laura Engel, the soloist brought forward from the chorus line, is a wonderful surprise and the nine year old Amira a true inspiration. And thank goodness he's good rid of the bagpipes!The technical quality of this recording is his best yet and certainly better than the sampler. At 161 minutes it's good value, too

This DVD contains a well balanced compilation of regular and new items. I particularly enjoyed the medley of Italian songs at the end of the DVD, which were refreshingly varied and original.

All Andre Rieu DVDs are wonderful.....PS...recently I received the DVD Live In Vienna .Is it possible to acquire a programme booklet for this DVD as one was not included when I received it two weeks ago.. thanks Michael

Very entertaining

The beginning of this DVD was a little disappointing as it was the same as another one I have, but then it picked up and I enjoyedit . It would be nice if Andre did some completely new ones instead of adding bit to old ones/ or is it that these companys do these DVD and Andre dosent known about them.
