Sony NP-FW 50 Power Pack

We looked on line for a spare battery for our new camera, although the prices varied from each seller, some batteries were not the Sony make, although they tried to pass off a such, we decided to pay the extra money and take a chance with this seller, and we were not disappointed the battery arrived in good time well packaged and more important fits the camera as good as the original one and does not "rattle around" as some customers reported with a cheaper substitute. worth the money, thanks.

I have bought and returned a few of these batteries, one of which looked identical to the real thing, but they were all no use on my Sony NEX-6 as it wouldn't recognise them. The problem is, of course, the on board chip in the battery. This does appear to be the genuine article though.

Some suppliers on amazon are accused of selling counterfeit Sony batteries. This one appears genuine.Used it already and holds charge for as long as the original supplied with camera does.

Well impressed with the batteries, purchased for my Sony A55 DSLR. Have used the batteries in continious rotation charging many many times and still they go on. Highly reccomendedTony H

I bought this as a secondary battery for the Sony NEX-7, for which is works perfectly fine.The problem I have with these batteries, and indeed the Sony NEX-7 in general, is the battery performance. My primary camera is a Canon 5D Mark II so I am used to leaving it continuously on and have the battery last for days and days of shooting.This is certainly not the case with Sony. I left my camera on overnight and the battery was depleted. Likewise, it runs down quickly during the normal day of shooting, possibly due to the constant use of live view. It is because of this that I needed a secondary battery, for which this one was perfect.I have given this product four stars simply due to the relatively high price and the fact the battery runs out so quickly. It's probably the best you are going to get though, and I would certainly recommend using the Sony one over a third party make which I have found to have poor reliability.

This is a genuine Sony battery, and lasts as long as the original FW50 that came with my Nex 5n.

It's taken me a while to be able to put in a report about this battery because I wanted to give it a fair trial first. Well, admittedly the trial has not been scientific, but I have been able to make an assessment based on use.This battery works fine with the camera, however, the battery supplied with the camera seems to have a longer usage life. I have fully charged and completely discharged both batteries a number of times now and can honestly say that the original seems to last a couple of days when subjected to being used to take quite a few hundred pictures compared with this, my "Spare", which only seems to last a day under similar conditions.Considering that the claim was that the battery was a genuine Sony (it looks to be and the packaging looked to be as well) I was expecting better. Maybe I should have taken a chance on one of those equivalent batteries costing around half the price.

I did not realise how stressful buying a camera battery was. I read the reviews on rip offs, so dutifully weighted this battery when it arrived. It had an equivalent weight to the one supplied with the camera. It works will a reasonable life, but it does take longer to charge and sometimes does not "complete".
