Bike U Lock

This is a very nice bike lock. It's very sturdy, made of strong plastic and metal. The length is okay, I feel that sometimes it is a bit hard to lock to some bike racks, but this happens to most U locks that I've tested. It is very easy to use, very easy to set up, and of course is locked with a four digit number, meaning there are 10,000 different combinations! Definitely a must buy, have two already. Price is good for it's quality.

This the best bike lock ever. Easy to set up your own combination code. The lock display code entered on both side. Take second to lock and unlock and carry on you bike. You can’t design a better bike lock..

I like this lock because it's easy to use and lightweight. Other U-locks I've used are heavy, adding pounds to your ride, have sticky dials which hard to use when locked in an awkward position. Some are hard to program and require a special pin I'm sure to lose. This may not be the most theft-proof - I don't know if any of them really are - but very suitable for lower risk situations.

I used to have the amazer lock - I loved it and it lasted me almost a year. Unfortunately, the little cover on top of the lock was very sticky. Sometimes, when it was cold, I couldn't undo my lock because I couldn't access the combination lock portion. I got this one to replace it - I absolutely love it. The only downside is that you have to lock the lock when you carry it around to get it to hold together. I've found this doesn't really bother me, especially given the price point and given the fact that with the old lock I couldn't unlock half of the time. If you're looking for a reliable, cheap bike lock, this is it!

Perfect.. the only real antitheft lock out there according to police. Functional durable easy to use.

Bought in Jan and 3 months later it broke. It would not open up anymore. Trash.

I like how easy it is to set the lock - no fumbling with keys. The lock is not heavy which makes it easy to transport. However, the material seems fairly easy to cut through. I would not trust this lock to secure your ride overnight; it’s just a great deterrent for when you step into a shop or park up at the beach for a while. I live in downtown Chicago where escooters are a dime a dozen so it’s just more of a preventative measure than anything. EDIT - Eating my words right now. A thief tried to break the lock with a hammer and steal my scooter this past weekend - they failed. The lock was bent in several places and the U prongs nearly disconnected from the base, but I guess it was becoming too much work for the thief, so they gave up. Changing my review to 5 stars. Lock did its job! That being said, a sawzall made really short work of cutting through the lock.

I want to preface this by saying NO lock will give you perfect security. This isn't for locking your Van Gough to your Porsche while you are out of the country. But if you have realistic expectations, there's very little to dislike about this lock. It's reasonable sturdy, and the two parts hang together even when unlocked, making it much easier to handle and arguably harder to pick. Setting your own code is trivial, and I like being able to tweak the numbers from the back side while leaving the front digits visible. I had issues getting it between some VERY tight spokes on a scooter, but you can (with effort/alcohol) remove the shackle liner and the loop is painted so there's some scratch protection. Recommended!
