Yes it can, its pretty much the same as a Wi-Fi card. I would recommend this over a card since the case wont block any signals.

J Koch, I don't believe this is made for a tv. You need to be able to install the drivers which yo my knowledge is not possible, even with a smart tv.

It's my mistake. Sorry for bring inconvenience to our customers, who specialized bought the adapters to use in their TVs. The wifi adapter can only be used in the TV which has been burned into this adapter's driver, there are almost no TV on the market have this feature at this time. So it's not a choice to use it in your TV. Sorry again and please note this tip.
