Superb!
Been trying to use a Bosch stud finder at twice the price and getting nowhere so based on reviews decided to give this a try. Popped a couple of AA batteries in a within seconds I had the centre of a stud and confirmed at various points up and down the wall (plasterboard on wooden stud). Double checked with a good old fashioned knock test and good to start drilling holes for a TV wall bracket.I guess like most of these types of device they will all be prone to error based on the surface/material but got to say that that I'm impressed.

Works great unlike cheaper products
The multiple LEDs allow you to move the unit over the wall and see the position of the stud being tracked by the lights. This works easily and consistantly, unlike cheaper units that I have wasted my money on. The built in spirit level s also a useful bonus.

Great reliable and intuitive stud detector.
Great bit of kit for finding studs. Just about the best for the price. None of these type of detectors are infallible, but this drvice is quite accurate and consistent. Easy and intuitive to use too. Won't find mains cables, but doesn't claim too. I use this to find lovation & width stud, then use a separate mains cable detector to check for cables before drilling. So far so good.

Excellent
VERY GOOD STUD FINDER

Useless for lath and plaster
While this is accurate on fresh plasterboard with nothing to interfere with the joists, it is absolutely useless on anything else, and therefore not worth the extra cost above cheaper alternatives that also work on simple walls. If you're looking for a good stud finder for older properties, then this is nothing more than an expensive paperweight. Be warned, it does not work on lath and plaster at all.

A magnet is more reliable and less expensive.
Very disappointed in this product. Top of the range (so called) and most expensive. I had a better result from the strong magnet to pick up nails. Everywhere it showed a stud there was nothing behind the plasterboard. The product (get out of jail) disclosure on the crib sheet says it cannot be relied on alone to locate studs due to differing materials used in the makeup of the enclosed Wall. Save your money and get a strong magnet as that will at least find the nails. It really isn't worth the money. Most modern Plasterboards and stud walls can have metalised membranes to prevent damp transfer also some soundproofing material can be a factor in giving misleading readings. I now have holes all over my Wall where this tool indicates studs that were not there. Easy to read easy to use but not very accurate I'm afraid. Save your money!

It works
Bought this for tracing studwork in the ceilings of the house that I am refurbishing. Was a bit sceptical as I have a 'stud finder' that is crap but needed one to save me hours of guestimating where to screw the plasterboard screws in the ceilings that I needed to overboard.Used this stud finder and it worked saving me hours of work, there were a couple of ghost signals but running it over the ceiling you quickly understood what was what , and with the help of a laser line got the boards up and secure. Well pleased.

The best stud sensor available
I bought a 710 from Sears (US holiday) many years ago. It worked well until I ran over it. The only differences between this one and my previous one seems to be a ruler and spirit level. No stud sensor is perfect, but having this multisensor detector gives you some confidence as to where the studs are. Move this detector across a stud and three LEDs follow the position of the stud (see picture). Even if you see a glitch on one LED it's still clear where it is. On a single sensor detector, all you see is the glitch. All the types work well in ideal conditions, but those conditions are rare in the real world. Before buying this replacement, I thought I'd try a magnet, which was time consuming but OK, until I came across an invisible stud (no screws or nails). The ape that put up the partition used Gripfill as the stud was undersized! This stud finder doesn't include a voltage or metal detector, but the separate voltage detector I use is more reliable than any combined unit I've tried.
