PNY 512GB PRO Elite V2 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Flash Drive – 600MB/s

This drive is pretty fast. My PC is a Ryzen 7 7800x3d, 32GB of RAM, and uses a Sabrent Rocket PCIe 4.0. I reach about 350MB/s write speeds, and almost 400MB/s read. I validated the capacity with "Validrive" free software. This thing has been through the wash, ran over by my motorcycle, left in the heat while camping in the badlands, ect... it's been abused since I keep it on my keychain. I never lost any data, and I've had it for a year and a half now. This drive is great! I'd buy another one if I needed it. The 512GB is more than enough for me. Buy this drive with certainty that you won't be scammed as long as its authentic. Dont buy it somewhere else because it's cheaper. You get what you pay for.

It’s excellent usb flash drive but it’s sensitive what I mean by sensitive you need to make sure you eject it properly what I found out hard way I thought I ejected and found out it was still open on my steam deck I eject it improperly and it stopped working it’s weird I have pny attache 8gb, lexar 128 mb, sandisk 8gb I was forced improperly eject those flash drives they still work but do it many times pny 1tb flash drive it will stop working., Do I recommend this flash drive yes I do I never had problem with it besides not my steam deck ejecting properly that was my fault not checking it’s great it does have capacity of terabyte I checked it I use buy this from bestbuy but they raised price on it for unknown reason Amazon have it for price I use pay for 104. With tax easy to use fast transfer speed fast writing speed I use it back up physical copies of nds and 3ds games on there it’s worth it , use it for while it does get warm after I eject it from steam deck if it breaks again I know it’s from getting warm use it play my games on it from so far so good. Feels sturdy good value for money will like it more if it was made better by ejecting it improperly when forced to do so by laptop for stupid reason it still works as I mentioned from other usb flash drives I have worth money and expensive as I say again repeatedly make sure you eject it properly you will not have problems with it

I really like the metal housing on this flash drive—it feels sturdy and does a great job at dissipating heat during long transfers. A lot of flash drives tend to overheat and slow down, but this one doesn’t seem to throttle much, even when handling larger files or sustained transfers. I won’t bother with detailed speed tests since plenty of other reviews cover that, but I can confirm that the positive results others have reported are accurate. If you’re looking for a reliable, fast drive with a durable build that won’t break the bank, this is definitely worth picking up.

Real approx. 1TB capacity, decent and consistent speed, nice design. Feels sturdy. Never got that hot to the touch even under sustained use. Easy to slide the shield back and forth, but enough resistance so it won't occur accidentally. Base Length = 55mm / 2.5 inches; When Inserted: 42mm / 1-5/8 inch "sticks out". Weight: 20 g / 0.7 oz. Cosmetic: all edges are smooth, no activity LED, color matches what's shown on-screen.

Prior to this, when I needed a flash drive, I always just purchased whatever was available at the general store. I never thought about there being any real differences other than capacity, so when it took forever to access the files on one, I didn’t give it much thought. But when I started having other issues, I researched flash drives and found out they really do vary immensely, even between different models from the same companies. One test I found rated this one very high, so I bought one, and it turns out, with flash drives as in everything else, do your research, pay a little more, and get a much better product. This has more capacity than I’ll ever need, and it’s lightning fast, I didn’t realize how much the slow speed was bothering me until I saw how fast they can be. If you need a keychain type flash drive, this is the one to get. It has a metal case as well, which will help protect it from damage.

this review is for the PNY 512GB PRO Elite V2 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Flash Drive... a well built and thus far reliable product. i hope slider/cover mechanism will last to stand test of time. i have not myself experienced any overheating, actually running temps seems quite moderate, although i don't choke it with consistent large file writes as some may. only 4 stars given because it is (imho) overpriced. humanly written, as all reviews should be :-)

Faster than my Samsung T5 SSD. 7GB file copied in 31 seconds versus 48 seconds for the SSD. The Samsung T7 copied the file in 21 seconds, so it's in-between these fast drives. Copy starts at about 350MBs and drops off to about 200MBs when the buffer fills up. Still great performance. It booted my Raspberry Pi 5 with no issues, however, to read (oppose to boot) the drive in the USB port you need to disable the USB power limit to get enough power to read it. I also used it to create a bootable USB from an ISO file to restore Window 11 on a spare PC and it was much faster than he older PNY device I'd tried to use previously and gave up due to how slow it was. As others have stated, it has a solid, weighted feel to it. Happy with this purchase opposed to many other portable storage media's that have left me disappointed with their performance. Update: I also purchased the 1TB model and it writes at the same speed as the 256GB. It is NOT faster!

No details on longevity as these are fresh out of the package, but it's nice and speedy. I performed this test on a Lenovo P16 gen 1 w/ Windows 10. Compares very similarly to the Patriot Supersonic Rage Prime USB 3.2 Gen 2 Flash Drive. CrystalDiskInfo says they both have the same firmware: "UHFM00.6", so it sure seems to me like they have the same flash/usb controller. As far as I'm concerned, they are the "same drive" performance wise, but with different chassis/pcb/packaging. The PNY has a metal shell/sheath on its OUTER casing, so that wouldn't help thermals, it just adds weight and makes it heavier. I would have like to see the inner shell that encases the PCB to be metal instead. I would expect both to be equally durable when closed and tossed in a backpack. The patriot is a little smaller and lighter - so probably less likely to get broken off in a USB port by accident - which IMO, is how most retractable USB drives get damaged (aside from water).

Works as advertised with the highest speeds I have ever seen from a USB flash drive. Works well with Windows 10/11. Good build quality and only negative is the price seems to be a bit high. Purchased to replace a Samsung flash drive that failed to work with Windows 11.
