Deceiving
Beware ordinary motherboards will not be able to read any SAS drives connected via this adapter cable, they mention this in the description in such a convoluted way that sounds like it will most likely work with any motherboard. This will only work on a controller capable of reading SAS drives. This will not work on your ordinary desktop machine so do not buy if you aim to do that. Also for some reason this seller does not support refunds or returns even though you have the right to cancel an order within 14 days of receiving the item, I had to chat to Amazon Customer Support to get a refund.

Suitable for LSI SAS 9212-414e HBA card but v expensive for what it is
Can confirm that initial tests with Unraid shows that this cable is suitable to connect sas drive with the Sata port on an LSI SAS 9212-414e HBA card. Very much on pricey side. Not worth the money if you are looking at 8tb+ drives where sas and Sata drives are the same price. But worth it for a collection of 4tb sas drives which are much cheaper that their Sata equivalents. But unless you want to wait weeks for an Alibaba delivery this is really the only choice for this configuration.

You need a controller card
Worked exactly as intended. As others have noted, if you are planning on using an sas drive in a pc, you will also need a controller card in addition to this cable

Does what it says on the package
Product does what it says and is indispensable for those that needs it. Price is good and works. Vendor happy to handle issue when one falls out of package on route.

Ce câble ne fonctionne pas avec un contrôleur SATA mais uniquement avec un contrôleur SAS. Par exemple sur un Dell Precision T3600 mono processeur avec chipset C600 et pilote RSTe 4.5 : il y a quatre ports SATA sur la carte mère gérés en SAS.

マザボード上のSATA USB⇔IDE/SATA変換器 で接続テストしてみましたが通電していないのかディスクが回転することすらありませんでした。 勿論テストに使った機器は他の環境で動作確認しているので本製品の問題だと思われます。

Non lasciatevi ingannare da recensioni fuorvianti, questo accessorio è solo un adattatore per gli HDD SAS, è sempre necessario un controller Pci per questo tipo di Hdd, a meno che la vostra scheda madre ne sia espressamente già fornita, in genere solo quelle per workstation e server. Questa è la verità. Il connettore fà il lavoro per cui è costruito, e resta ben saldo.
