No. It is very wide. Unless you have a long neck, it is not comfortable. A narrow one would help more.

If my neck is 15 inches, should I purchase the medium or the large size?

Lg starts with size 15.7 & Md stops with size 15.7 so the question for you is do you want a little wiggle room go with Lg, whereas, if you want the collar tight with no possible adjust room go with the medium. I cannot tell you which size to get you have to decide knowing your circumstances.
