Accessible but secure
I wanted this for running and hiking with my Sony a6000 and I read the reviews carefully before ordering so thanks for those that helped there. First impressions are good and it feels pretty secure but easy to use. It has a solid click connection and just needs a bit of practice to get used to it. Me being me I have added extra security with a wrist strap secured through the chest strap of the rucksack and with a mini carabiner which can both stay on for shooting. Overkill, as it also has a lock on the release button. I have also added an elasticated velcro strap round the lens and shoulder strap, even though I'm not awful convinced it is needed but maybe for running but the strap can also secure a shower cap over the whole thing for a measure of shower protection. The extra lock on the black release button is easy to set but a bit awkward to release. I'm sure with practice it will be fine. The clip fits all three of my main rucksacks, contrary to reviews by others and that was without the longer Allen bolts. I have attached photos to get a rough idea of the sizes. It also fits my PD Sling bag. As a bonus the plate fits my tripod which I wasn't expecting. I tried it with a belt and that could be good walking about on holiday with no bag. Went for a walk with 55-210mm longer lens and it just feels right and obviously is very convenient when you want to shoot and because it is there and not in a rucksack pocket, more photo opportunities will be taken. You quickly get the knack of it and it does seem like a great device. Checked the screws after walking about for a couple of hours with multiple connections and releases of the camera and didn't seem to be any slackening. I'm considering leaving the base plate on more or less permanently. Impressed so far and yes initially feels like a fair bit of money. However, considering the value of a camera and lens, the security and the quality of the build it actually feels like good value and I think it will become a much prized accessory.

High quality camera/lens carry clip
Very nice piece of kit and well engineered - which you’d expect for this price. If carry a camera when hiking, especially if it’s an SLR, then this allows me to clip it to the strap of the back pack. It is held securely and easy to access. The V3 is smoother than the V2 and comes flush fitting bolts, which are useful if you use a cover for you camera. Altogether this is excellent value for money for a quality item. And I’ve not found a better alternative.

A Game-Changer for Photographers: Peak Design Capture Camera Clip V3 Review
As an avid photographer constantly on the lookout for innovative gear, I recently had the opportunity to test out the Peak Design Capture Camera Clip V3 with Plate, and I must say, it has truly transformed the way I shoot. This remarkable accessory proves that sometimes the simplest solutions are the most effective. Build Quality: ★★★★★ The build quality of the Peak Design Capture Camera Clip V3 is exceptional. Crafted from premium materials, it exudes durability and reliability. The robust metal construction instills confidence that your precious camera gear is secure and well-protected. The anti-slip pad on the plate ensures that your camera stays firmly in place, even during the most challenging shooting conditions. Ease of Use: ★★★★★ One of the standout features of the Capture Clip V3 is its remarkable ease of use. Attaching it to a backpack strap or belt is a breeze, thanks to the well-designed quick-release button. This clip allows for quick and smooth attachment and detachment of the camera, making it ideal for on-the-go photographers. The quick-adjusting tension knob also adds an extra layer of convenience, allowing you to set the desired tension for secure locking or rapid access. Versatility: ★★★★★ What truly sets the Capture Clip V3 apart is its impressive versatility. With the included plate, it's compatible with almost all types of cameras, ranging from mirrorless to DSLRs. This makes it an invaluable tool for photographers who often switch between different camera bodies. Furthermore, the clip can be rotated a full 360 degrees, giving you the flexibility to access your camera comfortably from various angles. Security: ★★★★★ Security is paramount when it comes to camera gear, and the Capture Clip V3 delivers in this department. The double-locking mechanism ensures that your camera remains firmly in place, eliminating any worries about accidental drops or mishaps. This level of security provides peace of mind, especially when you're exploring rugged terrains or crowded urban environments. Comfort: ★★★★☆ While the Capture Clip V3 is undoubtedly a practical accessory, there's a minor trade-off in terms of comfort. When used on a backpack strap, especially for extended periods, some users might notice a slight pressure on their shoulder due to the clip's presence. However, this is a minor concern compared to the benefits it offers, and the discomfort diminishes over time as you adjust to its presence. Conclusion: In a world saturated with camera accessories, the Peak Design Capture Camera Clip V3 stands out as a game-changer. Its exceptional build quality, ease of use, versatility, and security features make it an essential tool for photographers of all levels. Whether you're a professional constantly on assignment or an enthusiast capturing life's moments, the Capture Clip V3 will undoubtedly enhance your photography experience. Despite a minor comfort consideration, this accessory receives my highest recommendation for its innovative design and practicality.

Piece of Mind for Hands Free Hiking
Excellent quality item and I bought it to hold my Nikon D7500 (usualy with 35mm Prime Lens) attached to my Backpack, for when I go hiking. It is very secure when atached to the backpack, and the camera connects easily. I have no concerns about the camera coming loose, and the mount is of solid construction. Just not that the little black button turns to lock the camera securely. This caught me out for a moment or two, whenI found that I could'n't release my camera (but, once I became aware of what was wrong - user error - i was very imprerssed with such a good safety feature)

"...instilled great confidence..."
Like all other Peak Design products I have tested so far the quality and engineering is top tier. Don't forget to go to their website and register the product for a lifetime warranty in turn. Now, I went with the silver version of the V3 capture clip. I would have probably gone with the black one to make it blend in with the body of my camera/strap of my bag, but looking at the pictures one looks painted (black) wheras the other looks like a solid material and I just did not want it to look scuffed/scratched down the line. I have not tested the black version so I do NOT know if this is actually the case but I am happy with my choice and neither clip nor mount stands out in any major way. As many others must have pointed out by now; it was with second (and third) thoughts and much care that I mounted my £5K to the small, American, startup-product with the quirky marketing. However, in the same instant the Peak Design Capture Clip V3 instilled great confidence and while I still (as per their instructions) check the tightness of the screws before I head out, I no longer think twice before attaching my gear to this all around perfect product. Top marks.

Handy but fiddly
Great to have quick access to your DSLR but it’s heavy, can reatrict your movements and I found it tricky to get the camera on and off the mount at times. Not much use if your camera’s not waterproof (at least in the UK!). Also have to be careful not to bash your expensive camera on the ground or a rock when taking your pack off.

Worth the price
I had been postponing purchasing it because I just couldn’t justify paying that much for a piece of metal, but I kept watching and reading the reviews, and everybody kept saying that it’s worth the price so eventually I caved in. I’m glad to say that it is indeed worth the price. The camera is always near my hand, which increases the amount of pictures I take and speeds up the reaction time if you want to capture something fast. Is £50 ridiculous for a piece of metal? For sure, but think of it as paying for a good camera cover/strap.

Pricey? You get what you pay for
I put off buying this for some time due to the price, well I finally took the plunge. Honestly, I wouldn't be without it, it is so damn handy hiking and filming. It's as sturdy as they come and seeing as they invented it, its super reliable and its well made - it's worth the money
