Works very well
Works good. I’m using it with a small SD5H09 compressor & a relatively small condenser & it will make you shiver in the cab of my 1970 c10 pickup

Are far as A/C units go, these will hang with the best
I've bought 2 of these for large dump trucks and these units are AWESOME. I understand that they don't have a blend door from hot to cold so for some people this may be a hindrance. However, I was buying reddit a/c units and those have climbed far out of the range of reality in price. Note that I don't use the heat side of this. I just buy it for the a/c purpose. So I don't even have heater hoses hooked up. But I decided to try one of these to see how well they work and I couldn't believe the performance once it was hooked up. ICE COLD!!!. I'll never buy another reddot. The reddots are up to like $800 now and this unit performs just as well for $100. I worked in 90 degree weather yesterday and I have to keep turning this thing down at times because I kept getting cold with it. If I had a complaint, it would be that I have to mount the knob controls somewhere in my truck and that they're not made actually in the unit. Or that the vents aren't directional and adjustable for directing the air flow. But for $100, it's really not possible to have a complaint. Now for the people who may want to hook up the heater hoses and have the full function of the hot and cold, you would have to put a shutoff valve in line with your heater hoses so that when you run your a/c it isn't trying to produce internal heat and effect the a/c performance. Not a big deal though. You already have to run heater core hoses to it. Just put a ball shutoff valve in line with them. Again 100 plus rating with me and I've been running these for a year. I will be buying many more to install in all of my old classic vehicles for a/c. One last note, I see someone else reviewed that the compressor isn't built in and they didn't like that. It's an aftermarket ADD on A/C and heat unit. You still will have to install a compressor, condenser, and a dryer bottle on your vehicle, new lines and charge with oil and freon. That's how these are built.

Works well for the $$
Works too good... My 5.9 cummins stays cold when this thing is running but it does keep the cab warm... Least for me on a long drive it's almost uncomfortably warm lol didn't hook up the a/c as the a/c in the truck works fine... The heater core in the truck is out, replaced it once and it took me 2 days because you got to hit the entire interior of the cab to do it... This works well for the $$

It works good except it dose not have a blend dooor to separate hot and cold air
Not having a way to separate hot air from cold air that’s the only thing I dislike other than that unit is of good quality the switches are going to be hard to mount given that they have no mounting brackets

Can't really direct the airflow
The unit works fine. My biggest complaint is that there are no directional vents that you can use to direct airflow to a particular part of the vehicle. On top of that, you can't buy them in the US because the tubes coming out of the evaporator are 50mm which doesn't work with US standard 46mm vents. I can't find anywhere short of Europe to find a/c vents in 50mm.

Wiring puzzle
Definitely moves air and blows cold. I put this in a little geo tracker, not much air is needed to cool that so this thing works well. No leaks, pretty decent quality, and a compact size. It does need to be said. This comes with no instruction. So hopefully I can save you some trouble if you are looking for advice via product reviews. The red wire on this unit is for your power. I recommend either connecting it to your old blower motors power supply, or on a fused wire to the battery. The ground wire is built in, connecting to a bracket, so you need to make sure that bracket is contacting bare metal when mounting the unit. The green wire is tricky, and really important. It should go to your ac clutch relay as a signal to request ac. It does not power your ac clutch. This wire supplies power. That is fine when you are putting in new relays yourself. However on older vehicles, if you are connecting it to the old ac wiring, you need to know if your ac clutch relay is looking for a ground signal or not. If it is, you will need a 5 pin relay to invert this. Mine needed this: green wire to new relay. Grounded. Ac clutch relay wire and fan relay wire to the new relay, and grounded again. I had to bypass the old ac amp in my vehicle in order to get everything to work. Hopefully this provides some help. Whatever project you are working on, have fun figuring the wiring out!
