From the start I was pleasantly surprised how good the quality of this basket is! It takes about 10g to fill, depending on the grind size and roast level. The holes seem uniform and well shaped, and the coffee puck holds proper pressure. The basket is of ridged design, which means it's impossible to remove by hand from either of the two portafilters I own, I need a tool. When you knock the puck, the basket stays firmly in place, but if you switch baskets often, having to use a pry tool might be annoying. All other baskets I own that have no ridge on their side come out by hand, but when knocking the puck, those baskets often get dislodged. I find zero to minimal fine grinds on the bottom of my cup. Very smooth finish, easy to knock out the puck in whole after brewing. It makes an aromatic coffee beverage. The price is competitive, this is a great value.

before purchasing, I checked the measurements and the model of my espresso machine to ensure myself that those would fit. The cups do fit the machine, but are very difficult to remove. (we have to use a screwdriver).

This 58mm, non-pressurized filter basket was specifically designed to be used for Rancilio espresso machines. However, I find it quite useful as a portable strainer for either ground coffee or loose leaf tea. Small enough to fit over most espresso cups, you can simply fill, stack on top of your cup, and pour hot water over it. You could even incorporate it as a mini-strainer for cocktail shakers, or to remove bits of pulp from fresh fruit beverage creations.
