Solution to unscrewing the lid!
I am happy with the carafe, seems to keep coffee reasonably hot for about 3 hrs. The only real problem was getting a grip on the top! I know you’re not supposed to turn it with the spout, as that would no doubt damage it. So, I bought some rubber shelf liner and cut out a square. It works like a charm! I keep it folded where the carafe is stored . Very inexpensive and effective solution. By the way, my hands are very strong, that’s not the problem.
