I have h-width feet. For some reason walking shoes don't appear to come with a width measurement other than a vague "wide" or "extra wide". Why?

I assume you have extra wide feet, like myself. I recently bought a pair of walking boots from FitVille. I measured my feet in centimetres from heel to toe. 2;8. I then measured the circumference of my foot at the widest point it was 29cm. Using these measurements I got the exact size of boots I needed on the FitVille web site. This does not answer the "WHY" of your question, but it provides the solution to your situation. Regards Danny Brown

Do these shoes have a toe cap?

No there is no reinforced toe cap. simply a normal toe leather cover.

Are they the same as in the description?

Yes they are extra wide as described so good and comfortable I now have 8 pairs in different styles

Height of shoe inside between the tongue and the insole Size 10

I don't know about size 10 as I take size 11 but I have a high instep and my shoes are very comfortable.
