Shimmer Damask Wallpaper Soft Grey/Silver (ILW980043)

GORGEOUS PAPER

Looked lovely until it was put up, if ur house is old with imperfections then this is not the paper for you, ended up looking like tin foil and lasted 24hrs on my wall.....

I was a little disappointed when this arrived, the pattern is silver & the backgroud is grey. On the roll it looks very flat & a bit dull to be honest. I expected something more 'shimmery' with it being called 'shimmer' & was looking to add a bit of texture & light to my boring bedroom decor. I was in 2 minds whether to return worried it would look a bit like a teenagers room but have give it a go & it looks nice. In different light, it gives different looks. The pattern is a nice change from normal flock/damask paper & looks more boho damask. I've done the rest of my walls a pale grey silk paint. It all came together nicely. Was decent value at just over a tenner a roll.

* Received fast.* Looked good when opened.* Decorator has had trouble with paper as the silver bits have been flaking off even when touched by fingers :(* Now we're worried to touch it.* Shame as looked good but £14.99 a roll I expected quality.* This is my nieces sweet sixteen room & we wanted it to look good but hmmmm.

Lovely wallpaper. good quality and easy to hang

The wallpaper is nice, we like it. It's not at all as reflective / tinfoil look as on the product image, but it does have a pleasant dull metallic glow to it, depending where you stand. There's usually an "orb" of glow, reflecting a light source, so it doesn't look uniform. I actually prefer that it's not as shiny as advertised.I'd like to warn you about one thing which is not made clear at all when you buy from ILW through Amazon. The paper rolls must be from the same batch, otherwise there will be variations of shade, and slight pattern mismatches. As I'm new to this, I had no idea about this until after the paper was put up and we noticed slight differences. Sure enough - different batch numbers. I bought two rolls in different Amazon orders, that's how it happened. Lesson learned, and luckily it's not too glaringly obvious. But it's something that should be highlighted in the product description, to educate people! And as orders are fulfilled by ILW it's something they could do better for orders coming in from Amazon.Also, the decorator said it was quite difficult to put up as it curls up strongly.
